If people want to complain then that's up to them it's not something I would personally do but each to their own.

The former should and would probably address viewers concerns if there were enough complaints and would step into certain incidents where necessary, the latter would restrict what Channel 5 is actually allowed to show which has negative effects for the viewers because that means more cover-ups (Freezer-Gate is a good example) and a more censored programme. Way to shoot yourself in the foot.

Jack to reply to you with your own words..why are you so concerned about what other people do? what business is it of yours and why do you think you have the right to tell them how to go about it if they choose to complain?

No, the topic is Big Brother, not individual forum members.

Then they shouldn't have mentioned their personal stuff in the first place then, as it adds nothing to the discussion of the thread?

The topic is complains about Big Brother.

There will always be complaints anyway. That will never change.

Yes, so when people are slagging off the "Ofcom brigade" someone saw fit to share that they complained and why they did. That doesn't mean they can be insulted for it.

Exactly. Big Brother always courted controversy, it was the race row that saw the decline in BB. But these complaints it receives were what it always got before and always would do regardless of it.

Jamesy 18-06-2014 06:48 PM

To be fair a lot of people on here shown their disgust at certain behaviour being allowed so it doesn't surprise me so many people have complained. Even I was near to complaining, it started to become uncomfortable viewing. Just because you're a fan doesn't mean you'll pass everything off. I bet tons of BB fans complained when you had the racism with Shilpa... Obviously that's one extreme and this series is quite the opposite. Although if you are that concerned about something then there's nothing wrong with complaining, doesn't make you less of a BB fan than anyone else.

Ofcom is the only body that will actually acknowledge complaints. If you sent a complaint to Endemol or Channel 5 all you would get is a standard "we value your comments and they have been noted" reply, or something along those lines. They would take more notice of it if loads of people complained although the matter of the fact is that Ofcom is the first open point of call for members of the public and fans of the show.

Big Brother receives complaints year on year. People are going way OTT with comments. the show will not be run into the ground because of 1000+ complaints on one incident on one series. At most a few people will switch off. Although viewing figures seem to indicate that no one is tuning off because of the bulling in the house.

I don't agree with people insulting them, of course they're their own individual, but I don't have a problem with people putting in their opinions on the matter and how they think people should deal with it either.

Plus if they felt the need to share it with us then obviously they want us to talk about it.

I don't think they're being OTT at all. And it's not just this once incident, it happens every year over at least a few separate occasions. Big Brother will no longer be worth watching soon if more things are needing to be censored due to complaints.

Or they feel the need to share their reasons for complaining since everybody slags the "ofcom brigade" off.

Well it's just the same as you slagging the "sassy weave fans" off isn't it?

Hayden my little :flower: this year has been really bad, gone beyond entertainment, its been uncomfortable viewing ,and IMO its been that bad ,that its the only time ever since bb started i have thought "Good on you all whos complained"

flamingGalah! 18-06-2014 07:11 PM

I am glad so many complained. The bullying has been awful to watch & I don't know why so many think this is "entertainment"...

Big Brother used to be about a group of normal people locked in a house, now it has turned into a clone of one of those awful trashy scripted reality shows full of obnoxious, loud, crass assholes, almost caricatures of real people & viewers watch with baited breath, salivating at the thought of something kicking off...

I agree with you that Helen and Pauline have been ostracising Jale, however Jale hasn't done herself any favours by playing the victim role either.

Hopefully this season will become more enjoyable, cos I agree with you that it hasn't been the best yet

Absolutely right Vanessa, there would even be complaints from some if all the housemates and their antics were just like the teletubbies prgrammes.

That's not really the point is it?

The "sassy weave" fans know who they are and most of them get my tongue in cheek humour.

When people refer to the 1,000 anonymous complainers as saddos with no lives or whatever the poster feels the need to jump in and justify it.

You asked why they'd share the information with the forum, that is why.

'Most of them' are starting to get annoyed with you contstantly just replying with the words "sassy weaves" at us all the time, but anyway this discussion can be taken to PM if necessary as it doesn't really concern the discussion here.

I have no problem with people sharing information about their complains on here, but they can't expect to not generate an outraged reaction on a Big Brother forum, where most users wouldn't dare dream of adding another nail into the coffin. I'm not saying they didn't over-exaggerate, but I'm saying their response was completely expected and I don't know what else you'd expect to achieve by posting on here that you've complained to Ofcom.

When and how did Jale play the victim tho

Because their complaining could very well have serious implications on a show I enjoy watching. It has a direct effect on me.

What someone else does with their body has no effect on anyone but the people involved

Nowhere do I ever reply with just those words.

Get over yourself.
