Why do people feel the need to be in a "clan"?

TiBB is open to all and sundry. Personally, if I was a new member, this sort of "clan" could apear as a clique and be very off putting.

Obviously people talk on MSN and have friends on the board but to create a clan would be divisive and surely this would be a bad thing and could cause problems.

I can see why people feel the need to form alliances towards housemates, however, I dont see the need to form a group who's aimit it is to "big up" other members. We're all equals on the bored.

Thats ones of the things that makes this board such a special place.

Good point Kizzy, but I think the idea was to have the opposite effect- make people feel more welcome and part of the TiBB 'clan':) :spin2:

Yeah I understood that concept but personally, having been on other boards before this one, i found this sort of group thing very alienating.

The fact that people are so warm and friendly on this site speaks for itself.

If you feel so badly about it i will stop it i didnt know that people thought that way i was trying to bring the forum closer

Andy she didn't mean you have to close it, she was just saying it makes groups between different people.

It was only my opinion...... you dont have to stop!!!

Maybe just make it less obvious, have a discussion group on msn or yahoo group where you can all meet up and chat.

I didnt realise that it was going to be stopped so abruptly on purely my opion.
