I did some in Year 6 at primary school, I can't remember the name for it but it's where you design buildings and stuff, it was pretty boring to be honest.
I was meant to do some in Year 11 after my GCSEs but I just told my school I couldn't find any and then the people who couldn't find any all got a trip up to Alton Towers so I was happy.

MarkWaldorf 13-03-2007 07:49 PM

I'm quite shocked at the amount of people who haven't done it. I thought it was done throughout the UK?

Dan_ 13-03-2007 09:54 PM

It's meant to be.I did mine at some shop that closed about 2 years after I left, was always busy when I was working there, must have gone downhill without me :laugh2:

MarkWaldorf 14-03-2007 03:00 PM

Ruth*Star 27-06-2007 08:41 PM

Right a Few people know what happened to me, lost my placement, was meant to be going to a medical center, so in 2 weeks I'll now be going to a care home for old people.

MarkWaldorf 27-06-2007 08:44 PM

Awww, have fun there Ruth!

Ruth*Star 27-06-2007 08:45 PM

Thanks Mark, you have fun where you are going as well.

MarkWaldorf 27-06-2007 08:53 PM

Thanks lol
It's all the way in Central London though... :|

Ruth*Star 27-06-2007 08:54 PM

Mines about 25/30 mins from my home, and its near a fish and chip shop, so i could have fish and chips everyday for dinner if they let me

MarkWaldorf 27-06-2007 08:56 PM

Lmao, lucky! Everyday? LMAO

Ruth*Star 27-06-2007 08:59 PM

Yeah, Just some fries everyday would be nice, its near a corner shop aswell, so i could get some magazines or something on the way home.
so i guess i'm happy going to a old persons home, the medical centre was on a main road and 1 hour and bit away from my home and the hours were a little longer.

MarkWaldorf 27-06-2007 09:01 PM

Aw, yeah. So is social care something you'd like to do?

Ruth*Star 27-06-2007 09:08 PM

I want to be a Estate agent, which needs social skills so yeah.

I had work experience with me mate in HMV earlier this year. What a fun disaster it was , because it mainly consisted of me sitting their doing nothing and having arguments with the stockroom guy about the wrestling DVD's.

Then when it came time to phone customers , I used the wrong phone and made in house calls instead to Gary , the manager.

Of course I did not realise it was the manager so I went about explaining to him that we now had his Mortal Kombat : Deception in stock.

No pay either , the bastards. At least I could get free water from the 'recreaitonal' room. Fun times.

It was a long time ago, but I remember my work experience in an office job when I was at school, I got a good report at the end of it which my parents and form tutor were pleased about.

I've also done some volunteer work since then and would like a good job at some stage.
