Guess we'll just have to wait for Most Loved and get our laughs from the inevitable charm offensive.

I wasn't even going to bother replying to this thread because I agree with James and would pretty much just have posted the same but I wanted to reply to this comment.

I find being referred to as a cloud of doom more than a little insulting Livia, and since you weren't a specific target in any of the trolling on here lately which btw is definitely NOT a nice thing to have happen to you at all, then you will have no idea just how vicious and nasty some members of this forum can be and I'm not just talking about banned members either.

So yeah I never used to bother about the Razzies but lately the downright awful and horrible things I have witnessed being said about others proves to me that the 'light hearted' comments are not true at all, yes a few might make light hearted jokey type comments but for some they use this as a platform to air their nasty vile opinions about people that they have never even met before and only know online in a forum environment.

I definitely think the last thing the forum needs right now is the Razzies and yes I am predicting that it would be a 'bloodbath' for the forum because some members like I mentioned above use this for complete nastiness, some can never let things go and hold grudges that allows arguing to spill into threads and so on.

I agree with you. Some see it as lighthearted fun, but others see it as a chance to slag off the people they don't like without fear of a ban.

I'm not too bothered either way if it happens or not, but i think people are getting a bit confused between the Razzies and the "Controversy" we had a few years ago

The razzies generally have categories that are voted, it's not like where everyone sends snipey comments, it's just like: "Most Argumentative Member.... " "The Winner is... Glenn" there isn't gonna be people in the thread like "HAHAHA GLENN YES YOU ARE SO ARGUMENTATIVE I HOPE YOU GET EBOLA AND DIE BECAUSE OF IT"

Was just about to mention this. there's a huge difference.

The last Razzies were pretty messy iirc ^

Glenn. 05-11-2014 03:24 PM

Just clicked into the first old razzie thread I found and there is an argument beginning on PAGE 3.

And with awards like..Most Annoying Member etc I don't see how anyone can say that it's not negative not to mention the bad felling that hangs around after it.

Glenn. 05-11-2014 03:27 PM

The awards never used to be a bad thing. It's certain people that soured them

Ramsay 05-11-2014 03:29 PM

I mean if people are too sensitive to realise that it's just lighthearted fun then just opt out. surely thats all there is to it.

This. I personally find the awards quite nasty.

See, you say this, but even the TiBB Awards threads have been locked before because of "negativity" and "drama", and that's a thread literally designed to reward members :umm2:

I mean, this forum in recent months has seen mudslinging in topics over Coach Trip, violent video games and Helen winning Big Brother. The last Razzies I recall went perfectly finely by until Thomas_C came on to pretend to find the whole thing offensive. I think we all know how that turned out. (Sorry this whole argument is quite vague but, well, the threads are hidden/deleted so...)

Besides, the fact that the detractors of the Razzies (who were around when they happened) are in and out of bans all the time anyway, or mods who're obviously (and perfectly entitled to be) tired of actually moderating it, so it's just a bit rich that they're involved in said drama all the time but don't want any more of it.

Edit: btw, I'm all for the trimming down of the more sensitive 'awards' (like most argumentative, as you point out above), but is there really much room for friction with things like 'biggest fail' or 'biggest drama queen' or 'cringeworthiest moment'?

Crimson Dynamo 05-11-2014 03:34 PM

can someone put a link up to the last one to see how it went?

http://txt-dynamic.static.1001fonts....se.regular.png can you help?

T* 05-11-2014 03:35 PM

I hope we really can have these, I think because the forum is now free of certain things that the show wont be taken as seriously and the show will be good spirited rather than argumentative. If people do go to far, They can get infracted and banned as per usual, simples.

Glenn. 05-11-2014 03:35 PM

What I mean by my last post is that it went ahead every year without fail. Yes there was the occasional ban here and there which came with the territory, but the general feeling was fun. One night of the year to get together and laugh at ourselves. Suddenly we're having to pander to a few sensitive people who kicked up a fuss a couple of years ago. We've recently got rid of some really nasty negative people who's only goal was to cause as much upset as possible. As far as I'm aware there are not any people like that left on TiBB. So what is the problem?

No, it's true that I wasn't a target Josy, but one of my closest friends was and I do understand how horrible it is to be targeted in that way. And I am well aware how vicious and nasty people on here can be sometimes. However, the incident to which you refer didn't happen on the forum, and if the Razzies ever were to go ahead I've no doubt there would be infractions and bans handed out if people went over the top. But I never got the feeling that the Razzies were going to be that kind of deal. I understood that it was going to be a bit of fun. I never got the feeling that people were lining up to insult someone because we all understand the rules and I also understood there would either be an opt in or an opt out option.

I apologise if you were insulted by my comment, but I uphold that the vast majority of people who might have taken part in the Razzies had they ever gone ahead would have been mature enough to give it and take it in a good-natured way.

Glenn I have seen you and others have a sideswipe at people even now in normal threads on here,so The Razzies imo, would elevate that, sorry but some people just cannot help but have a pop.

I know, but with the banned members returning the razzies would inevitably be fun of arguments.

That's true, maybe they could be forbidden from taking part (given the circumstances)?

Yes, especially when they can use the excuse "it's the razzies, i was only having a laugh".
