because they're jealous of everyone else

Mike 15-05-2015 10:48 PM

People will just see him as harmless and a likeable guy which we all know gets you a long way on BB.

Jamesy 15-05-2015 10:48 PM

Fat hasn't been used in a negative way mostly (by those of us who have expanded on our points to explain more). Most people have just observed that he's overweight. That's not bullying, spiteful, rude etc.. that's an observation, just like we say someone's skinny, someone's black, someone looks gay. It's not a negative term either, it's a description just like describing someone's skinny/gay/black/white.

It only becomes negative from the members on here who are not backing opinions up and just making sweeping comments.

kinda contradictory tho

if it was a personality contest why would the housemate that has shown the least personality of everyone in the house win the vote :hee:

I don't know where you've got that from, putting aside a couple of them like Cristian and Sarah who have had a bit of drama and maybe a few others Jack has been up there with some of the most screen time, considering we're only 4 days in we've seen quite a lot of him.

Headie 15-05-2015 10:50 PM

Personally I believe Jack won the vote because he is a young overweight boy who said he is a virgin, and people link that to "oh he must be a virgin because he's fat" so people feel sorry for him and vote for him.

it means he has hardly done anything and not contributed entertainment wise at all :umm2:

Well yes, in your opinion. Clearly he's done something right to gain the votes in the first place

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 15-05-2015 10:51 PM

also the way he reacted to the twist on BOTS was odd

saying he was annoyed at the cameras following him and telling them to **** off lmao ok then

And he's relatable because he's kind of geeky - he's not afraid to admit he's a virgin which is a big deal (and very brave of him to say), works a 'commoner' job and he's not exactly beautiful.

He's by no means my fave, but I don't understand why he's getting so much hate for being a genuine, nice person :/

This is a top post.

I get that you think he is dull, Scott. But I don't think any of them are all that interesting at this stage. It's too early. There are too many of them for any one individual to get enough time for us to find them interesting. That's how I see it anyway..

Firewire 15-05-2015 10:54 PM

jack is so ****ing boring i pity everyone who voted him

Dollface 15-05-2015 10:54 PM

i don't think jack should've won either, he hasn't been funny or entertaining, in fact i don't even think he's been on my screen at all. but i understand some people like him/find him relateable and whatnot. although he's boring atm, he seems like a nice guy

Firewire 15-05-2015 10:54 PM

i was just trying to troll i don't care it's a democracy

LukeB 15-05-2015 10:56 PM

Most find Jack a nice lad which is why I think he got votes like Harriet got votes because she also too a normal housemate. Surely they voted on likeability.

drantb 16-05-2015 06:18 AM

Wolfy syndrome.

Kazanne 16-05-2015 06:35 AM

I think it's because he is kind of the underdog, and people will be knowing he has probably had a bit of a hard time with some of the human race most of his life,so will get behind him just because of that.

BigBrotherfan4ever 16-05-2015 06:37 AM

I don't know why there is so much love for Jack on BBBOTS, Twitter & such like, I find him extremely unlikable.

It's because of posts like this that the word 'fat' starts to develop a negative connotation gearing society further and further into the 'slim and only slim mentality'. Not to mention the fact that I saw people say because he's 'ugly', like seriously? Big Brother is a personality contest and a psychological experiment. If you wanted to watch some beauty contest do so instead. Not to mention the fact that 'ugly' is such a ridiculous term -- who is anyone to call someone else ugly for their looks? Just is more of a representation of that person's personality than Jack's.

..I don't disagree with you Raph but there are also many references to Christian and his physical appearance and Jade with hers and their confidence/ apparent belief in themselves because of how they look...and that being described as arrogant/a negative character trait.. and I find that equally 'judging' on appearances...because it's kind of saying that it's not ok to say anything negative if it's someone who is not perceived to be so physically attractive but it's ok to say negative things about them if they are perceived to be so...

Ammi 16-05-2015 06:43 AM

..might be controversial but I don't like his hat very much, btw...

Gusto Brunt 16-05-2015 07:03 AM

I don't think he won the vote. It was fixed to make him the hero.

. Plus none of the rest are standing out that much yet, we don't know what percentage he won by so it could have been very close between all the HMs

And there is this, in a free vote it can be manipulated, interesting that the guy with a gambling problem got the choice
