I think he's trying to claim that the media is not right wing controlled which, in the UK in 2015, is simply false. I really can't fathom what his list of victorian, ww2 and obscure cold war era publications is supposed to "prove". It's certainly not comparable to the modern daily mass tabloid media right wing blanket coverage we have now.

They are giving us a referendum that they will do everything in their power to influence towards the result of staying in. It's lip service, paid because they knew that a referendum would be on the cards at some point inevitably, and they want it over and done with. At the end of the day, The Tories do not want out of the EU any more than Labour does.

Re: the sweatshirts.

It shows how much of a consumerist and materialistic society we live in. People actually like paying £68 pounds for a cheap sweatshirt with a logo on it.

And celebrity culture is closely linked with consumerism and materialism. That's the irony of what Russell Brand is arguing against. He's arguing against the thing that he is a product of.

He is to a certain extent but I guess that's just the nature of giving to good causes in the modern age.
There was celebrity culture before him and there will be after, he didn't invent hero worship or merchandising a venture yet it's a tool he uses to see his community concepts progress.. if he were Branson some may call him a genius :/

branson is a genius , hes created 100s of thousands of jobs in multiple sectors....heck hes flying people to space....he also doesn't preach to people the way brand does, yet what is brand? a crack head who wants everyone to take drugs without legal restraint, a multiple cheat who cheats on his many girlfriends, a man who wants us enslaved to Europe and its endless laws that destroy and impoverish poor people and blocks africans from trading and a man who exploits this disgusting cheap labour market

brands knows where his t-shirts are made from, he has a price of £60, put on t-shirts that are worth only £5, he is in bed with the big corporation people, his house is in a tax haven area, he loses his temper when being told the truth, when he was on question time, he acted like a prat, saying this needs more money, that needs more money, but he seemed to have no clue, to the fact that, where will this money will come from.
