[QUOTE=Beetlejuice;7875367]Come off it. It's one thing to do that on an internet forum, but to actually be in a person's face like Helen was last year trying to destroy people is a whole different matter. And it's silly to pretend otherwise.

So, what if that said person saw it on a forum ? is that less hurtful? and if your friend asks you if she/looks good in something that you find hideous, you'de just lie and let them go out looking like crap as you don't want to tell them the truth and offend them.helen last year was gobby and opinionated but there is no way she was out to destroy people.

Ammi 13-06-2015 01:18 PM

...let's not kid ourselves that Helen isn't a spiteful person, she doesn't even deny that herself but rather 'boasts' her 'b*tch' and will say whatever she wants to, to either people she doesn't care for or who don't care for her spite/whatever she wants to and feels like to insult them both to their faces and to others about them especially if she feels she has the ear of a like minded person ...it's just really whether anyone finds her 'b*tch' entertaining in any way/in the house because it's definitely not 'honesty', just her spewing her own spite over someone or whether they don't....Jack is a 'fecking boring moaner', no more needed to be said but as she did say more and added physical looks to that insult then so shall she be judged by viewers and fans..even if she had said over-weight in this instance thyen it wouldn't have been any better imo because it was something unnecessary that was added to a perfectly well explained insult already.../context also is important....'fat' was part of an insult ....

Kizzy 13-06-2015 01:18 PM

I won't come off it, I can say that personally physical insults are as bad as any perceived morality defect. Whether in the house or on here it's wrong, I don't believe in a sliding scale of wrongness...it is or it isn't.

I have no problem discerning green from red.

'So Joel is as bad as Helen, but because she doesn't sugar the pill, in some ways he's much worse.'
No, not much worse ...equally as bad.

It would be less intimidating for starters. And most people who do post such remarks on a forum don't consider the possibility of the person actually reading them. If they did they'd probably be apologetic like Nick said he was at the start of the show.

Helen is totally unapologetic for everything. That's another major difference.

I'd just give her my honest opinion in a polite manner.

If I were you I'd go back and watch the rant she had at Matthew.

Helen is the one who goes after physical features. Joel is commenting on morality. As we all must to maintain an ordered society. Hence the reason for laws which are to some extent based on that morality.

Then you have a serious inability to make distinctions. What Helen does is not merely insulting, it is intimidating and threatening.

Joel saying being polyamorous is morally wrong is as bad as Helen going after a person's insecurities and trying to make that person feel small whilst jabbing a finger in that person's face in an aggressive manner. Okay. What has happened to morals in this country? Oh, sorry, I'm now as bad as Helen!

Yes but surely someones weight and looks are not reasons to hate them.We would all possibly hate half the people we know if looks and weight should be relevant to whether someone was likable or not.

Jack_ 13-06-2015 01:43 PM

Helen is an amazing housemate but a nasty ****, and anyone that thinks she's this perfect wonderful woman is deluding themselves.

I laughed at the comment but if she goes and says that to his face I won't be supporting it. There is a line with drama and confrontation and unnecessary out of the blue personal attacks on someone's appearance are completely out of order. If she goes in there and shouts at him about how he's a ****ing bore (which he isn't btw but that's separate point) and he's a **** and should **** off home, I'll be laughing and applauding, but the minute she starts bringing appearance into it towards someone who isn't likely to retaliate is the minute she takes it too far.

There just isn't any excuses for it. On here, in real life, wherever. Once you attack someone's appearance you just prove yourself to be an insecure, abhorrent waste of oxygen. 'Honesty' is not an excuse for belittling people for something that is completely out of their control.

If someone sleeps around I will judge them on that and not pleasantly, if someone isn't good looking or is overweight I will not make judgements as to them on those factors at all.
The 2 things are entirely different as to how a person is and acts.

Do you see the irony in calling her arrogant, rude, offensive and obnoxious for expressing her opinion on someone's traits?

You do see the irony, right?

She's not merely expressing an opinion on someone else's traits though. She has to attack the looks of a person as well.

VanessaFeltz. 13-06-2015 02:22 PM

İ have made horrible comments as well, we are humans sometimes we cross the line but helen doesnt even know him personally and made that comment the moment she entered that was so rude

arista 13-06-2015 02:49 PM

Insults whether against someone personally, socially or spiritually have been up for discussion yes, that's a good point ammi they have all insulted each other I wouldn't say one more than the other just some more overt in varying degrees.
I'm not running in a circle I just won't distinguish one form of insult from another, if one is wrong they all are.

I'm pleased that they don't like Jack. We all want him out. But I see Helen has not changed her ways, her comments instantly reminded me of the disgusting way she treat Jale!

Vanessa 13-06-2015 04:19 PM

Can't stand Jack either. All he does is moan and sleep. He's so lazy.

He's absolutely useless and too negative for my liking.

Laughable that you're attempting to justify the rude comments made towards some hms as being necessary for the fabric of society yet the comments made towards Jack are abhorrent... double standards :/

How is what helen has said any worse than what Jack said about himself prior to entering the house? His USP is that he is a fat annoying person, have a look at his VT... 'Hello my name is pie face, I like pie'.

If all the sanctimonious bores would understand that it's as abusive and offensive to insult a persons core values as it is their physical appearance the world would be a happier place.

Yes, absolutely. There is a way to interact/debate or basically argue with another individual without any mention of their appearance.

I find people who back their own arguments up by directing personal insults towards those they disagree with, do so because they can't argue the point in question.

I accept this can go on in school but find it very disappointing when it continues into adulthood.
