Would have not been slightly odd and perhaps actually disrespectful to have sombre clips of people mourning an icon amongst the hilarity and chaos of all the drama that was going on.

Not really as they would be paying their respects its even more weird when 2 people knew him personally

LukeB 13-01-2016 04:36 PM

David's death has nothing to do with BB, he isn't a housemate he wasn't a housemate. He is irrelevant to the show. BB should not use an icon's death for their show. We should have seen the nominations instead which is more relevant to the show.

I wouldn't really say that Facebook is an accurate measure for views though tbh - the videos do auto play even if you scroll past (which count as views), so it's really a matter of who continued scrolling or who continued to watch the video.

i think it only counts if you click on it.

I'm with you on this, could have done without that scene!

But I suppose they have to show it because even though a lot of people hate showmances, it is something that's going on in the house. Whereas them talking about David Bowie's legacy, as much as it would be nice to see from a fans pov, it isn't really relevant to the 'storylines' they're producing, and they have to put that first. I'm loving your DB stanning though, he was a true icon and legend

If they's shown people upset and grieving (especially Angie) then they'd be accused of being insensitive and being disrespectful- they can't win either way.

..in a way they did do though (I think..)...most of the show was about Angie being told of his death..their tribute was 'BB style', which I think is fair because it's still their tribute to him/their own typical style of tribute...one of the most talked about things of this series or indeed any CBB series will revolve around the two Davids...I think Bowie would have been happy with that..

each show, Loose Women,This Morning, news etc spoke about the death but they didn't talk about it throughout the show. Are they being disrespectful nope. they are showing respect but they have to talk about other things too like BB has to show relevant stuff on their show even if it's the showmance.

I'm a massive fan of the greats of music 70s/80s will always be the best musical eras with the 80s way ahead of anything

Ammi 13-01-2016 04:42 PM

..if any show paid a tribute to him, it would be done in their own way and their own style and this was the same...a most typical CBB house exploding style ...something we all watch the show for, things like this...

Tiffany could get up and sing "Queen bitch" or something. (Its an obscure track from Hunky Dory)

Bowie actually did a track called Big Brother on the Diamond Dogs album."Big Brother"

Don't talk of dust and roses
Or should we powder our noses?
Don't live for last year's capers
Give me steel, give me steel, give me pulsars unreal

He'll build a glass asylum
With just a hint of mayhem (Sound about right)
He'll build a better whirlpool
We'll be living from sin,
then we can really begin

Please saviour, saviour, show us
Hear me, I'm graphically yours

[CHORUS]
Someone to claim us, someone to follow

Someone to shame us, some brave Apollo

Someone to fool us, someone like you
We want you Big Brother, Big Brother

I know you think you're awful square

But you made everyone and you've been every where
Lord, I'd take an overdose if you knew what's going down

[CHORUS (3 times)]

We want you Big Brother

...a good song Matress.....

The fall out was certainly relevant to the show. It majorly impacted house social dynamics, of course they are going to include it.
