Why add any new features to anything, in that case. :joker: There's nothing wrong with a little change to get up to date with something that most forums have these days. :) I think it would be a positive move, sometimes you agree with something and have nothing else to add.

Why try and be another forum? TIBB should be different and recognisable not a carbon copy cheap rip off

Because not evolving leaves the forum in the dark age.

A like button will enhance the forum

Some of us remember the dark ages and they were perfectly fine :hee:

I just think it would be a better way to say you agree with a post without having to quote it

Some forums have both a like and dislike button, dislike I can see why people would think it would cause cliquish behaviour or whatever, but a like button is a positive thing to say you agree with a post.

I stand my initial opinion on these threads of actually trying to converse by typing out that you agree/disagree with an opinion and possibly giving reasons etc, rather than just click a button or post a one word generic reply.

Just my opinion though.

That would all still happen though? Debates will still go on, it's just so stuff like . or this gets stopped

Yeah it takes heart away from the Forums that use it imo.

While I am guilty of a This or a x2 myself every once in awhile... I don't want a like button feature. This forum struggles to keep threads going on the off season as it is... and I can see it leading to a number of threads with just an OP and 20 likes. we should be pushing to be different then the other social media types... because TiBB will never be a facebook or twitter... so lets get that niche market I say... and lets push for more dialogue and discussion... not less.

Yes, debates will still happen it just cancels out the "this" and "[2]"
