Honestly, I so zone out when they're talking together that I didn't really remember him saying she kicked the dog; I do remember her going on and on about how she didn't kick it. Frankly, he's a bit of a dumbass, imo. Because if I had a dog, and the woman I was dating didn't like the dog (and vice versa), it would never go beyond that first date. (Okay, I'll admit, I'm a woman, and I only date men, but it's just the idea of it.) If you're single and you have a dog, that dog is like a buddy. That's who you talk to when you get home. You feel a sense of responsibility for the dog. The same goes for kids. If I had kids, and the person I was dating didn't like them, that would be the last date. I liked her a lot more before I learned she didn't like his dog. I mean, seriously, that's usually how people with dogs meet people; while they're out walking their dogs.
