I love this place so much, I have made such lovely friends, I just see so much ambition and diversity in front of me and I am loving the academic life so far  Love it!

It's great isn't it! Abd trust me it gets so much better as the year goes on. Like once you've made good friends.

I've been so bummed this weekend cos I've wanted to try dating for soo long now (I only kind of came out quite recently) and some guy really fancied me but I just felt nothing towards him. Typical!

I really do hope there is a suitable fish in the sea for me.

Braden 18-09-2016 10:16 PM

You sound like me, Tom :p I've wanted to start dating for a while, and thought university would be a good place to start. I don't normally reciprocate other people's feelings though. Catch 22, haha.

I'm glad you're settling in and having a blast.

It's on my mind quite a lot atm

Thanks so much!

...hawww Tom..(and Braden..)...I'm sure it'll happen but best that it be with the right person/the right circumstances etc and you'll know when it feels right...better to wait a little longer for that, I think....and that waiting just adds to it all anyway/the anticipation etc......once that first time has happened, it won't ever happen again so hang onto it and cherish it/those feelings.....

But I'm a mess with dating like I never realise when someone is coming on to me until days after it happened. Like I was in the smoking area of a club once and the guy I was talking to (whom I liked) was like rubbing my leg and stuff and I didn't get the hint lol.

To be fair I was really drunk lol

but i'm very much the type of person to just automatically assume that anyone I'm interested in wont be interested back so I'm very hesitant to pursue anything unless they've explicitly said they wanna have sex with me.

I started uni today!

Do u feel like you kept making friends throughout the year? I don't feel like I made as many strong bonds during freshers week as I thought I would, maybe I'm just overthinking

hope you enjoy the experience Melih!

And you as well Tom, because I'm not sure if I said before.

In terms of friends, for me, I made friends in the first couple of weeks based on where we would walk after uni. I made a friend because we both walked to the train station and it just builds from there. There's a group of five of us who have been friends since the very start.

Yeah like I feel I have quite a solid bond with all my flat mates already and some in the flat next door, and obviously various others, but I just don't feel I have a group yet really.

I met a few people first week but I didn't really talk any of my friends now until second week and they were the people on my course. But yeah I did continue to make new friends as the year went on. Most of my good friends now I met after Christmas.

armand.kay 19-09-2016 06:05 PM

But I was also really lucky because I really got on with my housemates so I had them to hang out with in the first few weeks.
