andybigbro 28-02-2007 08:15 PM

you say that like your proud

MarkWaldorf 28-02-2007 08:16 PM

.............

Millions of people do it anyway. It's not like my donation or what ever will be the vote that stops poverty or child abuse.

andybigbro 28-02-2007 08:19 PM

Every Penny Counts

MarkWaldorf 28-02-2007 08:19 PM

So if I donated it would all end? :puzzled::laugh:

andybigbro 28-02-2007 08:21 PM

no but it would help

Ruth*Star 28-02-2007 08:21 PM

i have ordered my ears and i'm hoping to get my nose at the weekend if i asda sells them.

Legend 28-02-2007 08:21 PM

Mark - your £1 could provide clean water for a family of 912. :nono:

That said, i do nothing either. I give a couple of pound in school when the box is brought around but there isn't much i can really do, nothing exciting anyway.

I watch parts of it though, i never last untill the end.

Bells 28-02-2007 08:23 PM

My hope was to get more involved in it this year. We're doing a Wear Something Red Day soon, and I intend to donate more than necessary (which will be the £1), and then collectively, our charity committee donates the money to poverty-stricken areas.

To be fair, Andy is right. If everyone had your attitude then nothing would be done atall.

If 5 million people thought what you did so didn't spare a pound then that's £5M which could have helped a hell of a lot of people.

You had better donate something this year.

I give money to the box. :nono: It cheated me out of a £1 last year. Seeing as you do nothing either, let's not continue.

Yeah, but if you do get the chance to donate some money, try to. Like, if you have some money on you for example - make sure you do.

I don't prance around with a red nose or big red ears but i still donate something. Ahh, i thought you meant you didn't even donate to the box... that's 'something' isn't it?

And it didn't 'cheat you' out of it.

:bored: Each of these 'shows' raise like 20 million pound a year. Which increase each year. Put all these donations together and you've at least got a couple of a hundred thousand. Shouldn't this be enough to help. I get it's nice an all, but theres the fact that we also pay hundreds of pounds of tax a month. This sorta tax stuff annoys me, so I won't get into it. But seriously, for like hundred of years now we've raised MILLIONS of pounds for charity and all they get is a water tap. Where is it going?

When i said i didn't do anything, i meant no big charity thing that you see on the program. That's something i'd have liked to get involved more in..

I ALWAYS donate something though, as much as i can. You don't think i'm that tight do you?

LOL It did. Pictures of where it's going don't help. Especially when I'm a sucker for less fortunate people.

Oh go buy a red nose. :nono:

Bells 28-02-2007 08:31 PM

No but like - loads! :joker:

Cos if I can't get involved in something a lot, I try to make up for it by donating a lot. Which isn't really the same, but it makes me feel slightly better - lol.

So no I don't think you're that tight, haha!

Sophii3x 28-02-2007 08:33 PM

TBH I don't bother.

Mark, for someone who's 14 you don't half sound like my grandad.

Anyway, to be fair you don't know much about the charities. EVERY penny goes to help various projects around the world. 100 Million pound is NEVER going to stop poverty in the world, it's a continuous thing which carries on throughout the year, each and every year.

You're the only person i know to be against it. It's an amazing 'show' which provides a lot of 'hope' for people who wouldn't have had that without 'these shows' and therefore the money raised.

For the record, I am not an old man. :nono:

And I'm not against it, sorta. I get what you mean, that it helps those less fortunate and such, but it's every year they do it. What happened to the £20 million you raised for the charity last year? That's a lot of money. Some people here in the UK are in need of help with money like that. Money is just a corrupting force, it's the root to my evil.

MarkWaldorf 28-02-2007 08:40 PM

Sorry if this makes me sound selfish, I'm really not. It's just something that bugs me. I do give to charity, though. Each year. In the box.

SiMoN! 28-02-2007 08:46 PM

charity starts at home
so i think we should try and help epople in england 1st

but helping people in like africa is a good think - but it is going ot tack alot to change how it is over there

Bells 28-02-2007 08:47 PM

Yeah it will take a long time, but we need to start somewhere. It's good that more well-off countries are getting involved.
