It's not Kirk's thread, Kirk has flounced off :hmph:. Abandoned us all. He never really cared about any of us in the first place. We just have to accept it Cherie. It's hard, I know, but we can move on... someone else will fill his confusing "sexy grandad" role... in time. Until then, we always have LT.

Quote the post and say something interesting as to why you agree, or just leave the post to stand on its own two feet ffs.

It's not your forum to tell people how to post or when to post. If I want to use :clap1: to indicate I agree with somebody I will

I wasn't trying to "tell people what to do", just having a little rant :hehe:. If you want to post meaningless filler-posts to up your post count whilst being quickly scrolled past that's your business entirely :flowers:

Maybe that's why your forum flopped? You only appreciate those that feel the need to go in depth on every post they make.

I'd hazard just as many who scroll past my posts also scroll past the insanely large ones some make to simply say they agree rather than just posting this gorgeous fella > :clap1:

Your accusations of posting simply to up the post count doesn't make much sense either considering the most active forum is one you don't even get an increase in your post count.

I'll have you know it did not flop :hmph:... imagine posting such a thing purely to try to be hurtful :nono:. We simply ended up closing it because it wasn't worth the stress of dealing with all of the bitchiness in return for nothing but complaints. I'd imagine most forum admins can relate :joker:.

If people make "insanely large" posts just to say the same thing as the post they're quoting without elaborating at all, then yes, that's just as pointless (and even more of a waste of time) than mister clap-pants... ... ... :umm2: ... ... ... ... but yeah, my opinion :hee: would basically be if you have no intention of adding anything to a debate thread then don't bother whooping, cheering or clapping. It serves no purpose other than to "get at people". That's the honest truth of the matter. I'm sure it's great to have in Chat and Games. You could have whole threads of people just clapping back and forward. And high fiving. And playing soggy biscuit or whatever. We don't need it clogging up the proper forums

Not sure LT is ready to step into the sexy grandad role just yet, or will he ever fit the bill :umm2:

The bragging :bored: Poor Kirk being ursurped by Niamh's phone

Amy Jade 16-12-2016 08:12 PM

If somebody posts a persons thoughts about something and they agree fully there is absolutely no harm in letting the person know by posting the clap gif...just as much as posting a laughing gif if somebody posts something amusing.

Marsh. 16-12-2016 08:13 PM

I resent the accusation that we in chat and games play soggy biscuit. Ross refuses to eat it.

It looks like the consensus is that Kirk should get back here, pronto.

Marsh. 16-12-2016 08:16 PM

Make it happen James. You are forum God.

I don't think that's true, most of the time people do just want to express that they like somebody's post (without having anything specific to add to it), it's nice for the person who's post has been acknowledged and just adds to a 'community' sense I think a lot of the time, people clap in real life too  It doesn't have to be a post that's for everyone so scrolling past it is fine too obviously, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have any value or there's anything wrong with it. Yes some people might sometimes use it for obnoxious reasons as well but I don't think everyone should be judged by that.

Don't ask :worry:

Marsh. 16-12-2016 08:25 PM

Here for the whooping, cheering and clapping smileys to be replaced with jeering, fist shaking and the finger.

Oh.
