Homophobic.

Yes, thats the point, we're not sure, neither are you or anyone else defending her.. It was potentially a bad joke, it was potentially a homophobic hiccup. We'll have to look for similar traits before we conclude either way.

Main question is: is it acceptable?
Real unbiased answer is: no.

The way she said it was questionable to me. The whole 'He doesn't want to sleep with an older man but he's okay with a gay boy?' sentence was just suspect, like she believed the latter to be more scandalous.

She had a piss poor attitude about being picked for the task and she was just using Ray J as an excuse and she distanced herself from others by telling people they couldn't talk to her. It didn't help she was standoffish when there was no reason to be either.

She said she wasn't sure if she could talk to people due to the task but even then she did talk to people, bar being irritated with Speidi. She was courteous with Bianca and Angie and the old guy (forgot his name)

"The attitude of seeing racism where it doesn't exist" you can't tell people that have experienced racism what is or isn't. It's condescending. Racism comes in many forms. Subtle or strong. People not seeing racism in everything is not what's going to solve the problem. Addressing all the forms of racism will. Some are so subtle it's easy to pass it off as not being a form of racism when it is.

How is it a slur?

And why is it always white people fretting about racism and straight people pointing out the homophobia.

My, we are all such delicate little flowers nowadays.

Brillopad 04-01-2017 09:42 PM

What bull, it is just this type of over-sensitive nonsence that causes all this political correctness. She clearly wasn't being offensive but the thread starter saw an opportunity to try and create something out of nothing.

I find this offensive

It's kind of ironic btw that the 'edited out' housemate is currently the most talked about

You've been crying racism since last night though just because she got picked for a task. You can't accept that people have a negative opinion of her because she acted like a dick, not because of her skin colour

I'm fully aware of micro-aggression and I would have picked up on it if there was any but there wasn't. If anything, James leading the charge to pick her was likely motivated by the fact that he seems to be the type to be intimidated by strong women.

I'm in the camp that believes that black women tend to be treated awfully in BB and I do think it's often racially motivated but in this case Stacy's made her own bed by being a dick.

If it was someone else then they would be lynch mobbed

I wouldn't have a problem with that either if someone was trying to describe someone they didn't know the name of.

Seeing it again on +1 she definitely knew his name was Austin btw, it was more that she was making a point of him being 'a gay boy' and that being a reason for someone not wanting to share a bed with him, rather than using it just as a description to identify him.

Beso 04-01-2017 10:06 PM

Hope the gay boy finds out what she said, we aint had flounce for a long time.

But James knew nothing about her at the start, what made her a dick at that point? and he seemed to be conflicted by his reasons for picking her. Those that did know her said they liked her and were against picking her. If he was indeed intimidated by strong women it should have been Bianca as he probably knows her and is more familiar with her as a strong woman.

But she didn't act like a dick. If she was irritated she had a reason. Speidi didn't even address Austin directly and he already branded Spencer at least a dickhead. But yet Stacey, who was being smothered by them directly can't be annoyed? Why does she have to tread on eggshells wth her reactions.

And the gay comment I've said what I thought about it up there about homophobia in the rnb community.

Vicky. 04-01-2017 10:17 PM

No..not the way she said it. If it actually was a joke and she was friends with him no...but it was not a joke and she only added that bit because she clicked on she had said something wrong :/
