Here is a quote from the recent rules announcement.

The odd post that is just a GIF or smiley is fine but constantly is not.
This is a really good example of why a like button is needed! There have been loads of times where I've waned to show appreciation to a post but haven't because of this rule.

I don't think it's a silly threat either tbh, I think you've been quite lucky with the fact we just put up with this.

I know this post is like a month old but I only just saw it. Quite what atrocities have we committed? How come you are still here if its that bad? Not trying to push you away from the forum or anything, but I feel like this is a huge overreaction and would like to know a list of our supposed sins to see what we could change.

I don't really see how? People could post actual opinions instead of just clapping or gifs...or pressing a like button.

I get that you are all desperate for one. I am kinda in the middle. I don't see how it would benefit the forum and I know it will be used as a popularity contest. We did actually used to have something like that on the old forum...a karma system and people did abuse that too. However at the same time, I don't see what harm it would do to have one and it would be nice to see the one word answers and constant gifs disappear...though I have a feeling it wouldn't happen like that and posts would just be liked AND GIFS posted. I think it would probably make people more cliquey than they are now. A well thought out post by an unpopular poster would be ignored, while another member posting 'I saw someones cock today' would have 30 likes D:

I for one would never like such VULGARITY.

But like being serious, I really don't think it would be cliquey? There could always be a trial run and if it's not popular or isn't being used properly it could be scrapped.

Vicky. 13-07-2017 12:24 PM

I am not sure its something thats actually easy to implement. I expect its seriously hard or James would have done it by now I think with the demand, even for a trial as you say. This forum has so much custom coding that its kinda a lot harder than in other places to install the mods, and sometimes they can **** up other features... if that makes sense?

Either way, the way to go about it is not to make threats and have a bad attitude (not saying this is you btw :p )

I know James is aware there is a demand for this. I just don't think he is going to do it right now. Plus, Josy already said no  Its like asking mam for something, getting a no so running to dad :D

We need to get with the times

Crimson Dynamo 20-07-2017 04:35 PM

over at DS their new buttons are in a mess

they got rid of thumbs down after the initial roll out and now the laughing icon is now used as a mocking ironic comment rather than "oh that is funny" ie as a thumbs down proxy

The fact there is no thumbs down has made ALL the reactions meaningless

The spineless excuse given for taking away thumbs down just about sums up the whole debacle

If we have a like we have to have a dislike

reece(: 20-07-2017 04:38 PM

WE don't, dislike is irrel.

How do you HAVE to when 3 other forums I use have no dislike but a like one.

Just another of your agendas then?

Are your 3 other forums relevant?

what are they?

Cal. 20-07-2017 05:05 PM

A dislike feature would be ridiculous. A like feature would be a lovely addition.
