As far as the bookies are concerned its a 3 horse race to win between Portugal, Italy and Bulgaria and a 4 horse race for 4th and 5th between Belgium, Sweden, Romania and the UK

oh well, i like both UK and Romania, so i'm glad they are both high in the odds :hee:

I hate betting odds. I wish they'd get rid of them for Eurovision, or just in general.

Nicky91 13-05-2017 04:14 PM

betting odds are mostly doing a good job at their predicting a top 10

only if your number 1 or 2 fave at the bookies, you just have lots and lots of pressure on your shoulders to prove your the right choice as bookie fave :(

that's why I hate them :p I'd rather be in the dark and surprised, but I suppose because I'm such a fan I won't be able to avoid them.

Portugal's song is awful. Feel bad he's ill but it doesn't change my feelings on the song at all. Call a spade a spade.

I agree 100% I don't mind songs sung in their native language, I always like France's french songs and Ukraine's last year was so emotional with the humming but this is utter sh*te and an embarrassment to Eurovision if it wins.

Amy Jade 13-05-2017 06:24 PM

Nicky you should vote for the UK in return for all those votes I made to save Daisy Lowe in Strictly btw...

I like quite a few songs sung in native tongue. I just don't like that one, I find it incredibly dull and I don't care for sob stories, i hope nobody votes out of pity.

I agree with all of this. I'm treating him like anyone else (which what they would want, no one likes to be treated differently/have people pity them etc)

I love different language songs, this year i love France and Italy's song but the Portugal's one is not my cup of tea at all and it's so dull. It's not something i would listen to again but it's something i will listen to if i was having trouble sleeping.

Ugh, I've made the decision to watch this with my friend in a public venue, which means I'm probably gonna get there and have to watch it on a tiny screen with hundreds of other people talking over the songs.

you should have invited them around yours and have snacks and stuff:smug: I would hate that myself, it gets irritating when you're watching stuff in a public place but at least it's not football where everyone shouts

Portugal... His illness hasn't even been mentioned on air and he isn't using it as a winners ticket. People like it because it's soft and a pretty song in general and if it wins im going to be happy because Portugal deserves it after all this time.

It sounds like something that'd soundtrack a tender moment in a Pixar film. It's perfectly lovely and worlds away from the rest of the contest.

That was my initial plan and then we sort of just agreed on going somewhere :( Regretting already, we're both running late so I'm probably going to miss Ruslana <\3
