So a repeat of last year? :joker:

SteveG2688 30-05-2017 07:39 PM

I just hope there are some NORMAL people there to choose instead off all the usual shallow low life z listers

Pete. 30-05-2017 07:42 PM

This could either be great or completely tragic :joker:

Daniel. 30-05-2017 07:43 PM

This is terrible. All the good housemates wont get in, prepare for a series full of lads and dull women.

Jordan. 30-05-2017 11:34 PM

Not perched for the loud mouth Bear characters getting voted in over freaks and oldies

should we really trust the same people who voted Helen Wood or Stephen Bear as winners to choose this year's housemates? this twist has disaster written all over it.

Shaun 31-05-2017 11:42 AM

Another Jayne career as a dementia charity worker speech incoming?

supertv247 31-05-2017 12:19 PM

The only way I can see them executing this with the space and time they've got
(although I really don't like this idea)
Is if they got out 2 housemates who then made a plea, we voted between them while we watched each of their VTs, and then one goes in and one goes home. Rinse and repeated a few times..

supertv247 31-05-2017 12:20 PM

But like I said I hate this idea cause imagine they gave us Jayne & Evelyn and we could only pick one and then Sam & Alex and we had to pick one when you want the first 2 but none of the second 2

Denver 31-05-2017 12:20 PM

I have a feeling we will only vote like 3 or 4 in

they will send in the housemates then bring out 6 to 8 non housemates similar to BB10

I didn't dismiss it, the public have voted in housemates in the past. :nono:

I said the current BB audience's choice in housemates would not be that much different to the producers these days. Especially if we're not provided with very much choice on the night.

Sounds like this will work well

should be interesting either way

These people vote Helen Wood and Stephen Bear as winners so expect a LOT of freaks and bitches.

There's a rumour that half will be elected and the other half unelected

Captain.Remy 31-05-2017 05:21 PM

If that's the case, I don't want to hear or read on mf in here complaining.
Y'all wanted C5 to include more public voting, so here we go, you have it.

Like, it will be our fault if we end up with BB16 Christian type of males and 8 Harry Amelia type of females.

I actually think it's a good idea. Let's try it and get along with it. We might be surprised.

I think the production will select 8 housemates to go in, and leave the other 8 up to the public. They won't take such a big risk of letting ALL the cast in the hands of the public.

I think it's a really bad idea, it's just going to make all the potential hm's play up to stereotypes and cliches in their VT's, and the ones that do that the best will get voted in. The whole point in having a casting team is so they can get to know the hm's over time and in different scenarios, and pick the people who'll work best together (I know it doesn't always work but I still think it's the best way of doing it). Some of the best BB housemates have been people who you wouldn't even necessarily notice at first (and some of the worst are the types who'd probably win votes like this) :worry:

Jake. 31-05-2017 07:05 PM

I mean the casting team generally make piss poor decisions so can the public really do much worse?

In fact, I would have loved to see something like this, if they keep the "vote in" twist:

Pre-launch on Friday with 14 potential housemates moving into the second house. But not hosted by Emma as it is not the official launch.
We can see VTs, interviews etc...

They will live there until Monday night, which is the official Launch night.
From Friday to Monday, daily shows everynight to get to know them better.

On Monday night, lines close and the seven housemates with the most votes win proper housemates status.
They all enter at once, and then we meet the other 7 properly introduced by Emma.

In France, we did something similar a few times already, with internet shows and public vote to decide who we want in prior to the launch night. And it worked out well because great housemates were chosen.

I think casting get it right more often than they get it wrong tbf, I don't know if I'd say the same about the public voting  Although I haven't seen most ch5 series, just 16 and 17, so I haven't got a lot to go on to say how good the current casting team is... I just think in principle it's a better way of doing it.

If anything, I see people wanting less, with quite a few members pushing for a BBUSA format. There's very few who enjoy twists like these and when we vote to impact the night (eg when we chose 5 people for BB16, Jazzy P for BB15, etc)
