Mystic Mock 14-06-2017 10:12 PM

People might not like hearing it but Hannah and Deborah were being called aggressive because they're black.

Was they being argumentative? Yes, but was they being aggressive? For me no, I saw more aggression from Chanelle and Kieran the night before but conveniently Lotan and Rebecca never commented on that from what we've seen.

Daniel-X 14-06-2017 10:13 PM

Don't think she was playing 'the race card' as such either, just observed something and jumped to conclusions but I don't think she was vying for sympathy and calling the others racist.

I agree. No one is saying that the housemates are racist but are we really going ignore the fact that racial stereotypes sometimes effect how we perceive people.

Daniel-X 14-06-2017 10:16 PM

Mess @ Kosi being aggressive. She was just a wind up merchant

Northern Monkey 14-06-2017 10:17 PM

Where does this stereotype stem from? What started it?

It is all rather subjective.

But you have to ask yourself. Why such a stereotype exists? Was it just made up? Hannah seems well aware of it as she is the one that brought up race.

How is Makosi aggressive sis?

Genuine question. I can't remember one.

Makosi, Vanessa from the same year, Sylvia was more of a bitchy Housemate than argumentative/aggressive in BB9, Heaven was a victim of arguments in BB12 rather than seeking them. And tbf Deborah and Hannah have only had one argument so far.

That's about it from what I can think of.

we've seen it multiple times on this show

don't agree, can't stand anyone aggressive, aggressive has no colour

jennyfromtheblock8 14-06-2017 10:23 PM

They used aggression to try and convey they were not aggressive.

Jason. 14-06-2017 10:25 PM

Oh and let's not forget Traci Bingham if we're adding CBB to the mix

because it gets on some peoples tits when colour comes into it, like it or not some coloured people have chips on their shoulder about colour and bring the subject up themselves, even that black bloke on BBots said she shouldn't have done that

Doesn't really matter whether you agree that it exists or not, it's like debating whether or not air exists.

Black people will oftwn be deemed aggressive far quicker than white people. A prime example in this series alone is Kieran, a white male, that literally insinuated that he might have been violent towards Chanelle if she was a man didn't get a reaction from BB or other HMs but now after one blowout, the sisters will likely be tarred with the 'aggressive' label both inside the house and out.

armand.kay 14-06-2017 10:27 PM

literally a black girl has one bad day and they are evicted to boos, Helen terrorises her housemates all series and is given the crown.... hmm

In what world was Makosi ever aggressive? She even stayed calm when Saskia said "people like you always have a chip on their shoulder" to HER FACE.

it's not true in my view, people need to stop seeing colour and seeing people instead, people of colour included

Jason. 14-06-2017 10:29 PM

It's funny how Makosi is deemed as aggressive when Saskia was literally more ABW than the actual two black women in the BB6 house

Stereotypes exist, and for people to deny that Hannah has been stereotyped is wrong imo.

There is defo an "angry/agressive black women" stereotype which is prevalent which ironically even some have bought up in this thread which is clearly what she was referring to. While she was shouting and being emotional it came across as more fustration than agression but I know some will disagree with me, everyone sees things differently.
