This is another good point to take into consideration, certain demographics, such as a Welsh demographic, are more likely to vote more than once and that wouldnt be reflected in any poll either. Manchester may feel similarly for Issy, and London for Deborah, whereas Raph is less likely to benefit from a city pride vote

I gave you a few paragraphs of straight answers but they obviously weren't to your liking so you're going to ignore it because it totally defuses your accusations.

Males and lgbt+ are drastically overrepresented on tibb, but this same demographic would be underrepresented in other areas such as fb or ds. I completely understand why cat ladies should be banned, but we cant pretend an entire demographic doesnt exist. I'm interested in their voice, and I dont think I know what that voice is saying hence the thread.

I do apologise to those offended though.

OK

Could be Debs cos she's more relateable
Could be Tom cos he's technically good looking
Could be Raph cos he's the nice guy
Could be Issy cos surely they like good TV sometimes
Do you not see how this is insulting? Also the assumption that the 'cat ladies' will vote for goodlooking males and so on. I get that y'all don;t think its a problem but it really is. There is no need to insult a whole demographic with sly comments like this

The LGBT example would only work if someone used it to draw negative connotations about that demographic. I don't find talking about demographics to be that problematic otherwise.
But this is exactly whats happening with the 'older vote'. I can try to draw parallels to show what I mean...but this may come across as insulting. I do not actually think this, I am simply using it as an example...basically

Would the gay community vote for Raph as the want his cock? (Cant see beyond their lust...implied)
Or Deborah as she would be a decent straight best friend?
Maybe Tom as he is hot and they don't have a mind of their own beyond seeing someone is goodlooking? They are all just thirsty.
Or possibly Isabelle as surely they like good TV sometimes. )Usually they just like crap and people they can oggle. Surely at times they actually like other things..implied)

See how this looks when its about LGBT people?

I genuinely do not see why it is fine to insult a whole demographic of people, make out they have some kind of hive mind and (usually) make out they will only vote as they fancy someone, or vote out girls as they are jealous.

Answer the straight question you were asked so with a straight answer. Who are "thirsty" voters?

I am not at all irrational, as many other posters have pointed out but you continue on ignoring that fact. You stated that TIBB is sorely lacking in the standard ordinary voter and I explained to you the reason why.

Older people will not come on here to be insulted constantly. Therefore we just go off to more mature forums. Simples.

Voting on attraction is certainly not exclusive to older women, and I would never suggest that. People read between the lines there. I can probably list ten examples off the top of my head where people of all ages and genders have decided their fave based on attraction.
me saying 'surely they like good tv sometimes' was more a statement on my personal preference, cos I couldnt think of a better way to fill the blank. I decided on making a joke out of myself.
I personally think people came in to the thread and read the OP in one of two tones of voices, I dont know how to resolve that. Emojis look bitchy 9 times out of 10 to me!

Vicky. 28-07-2017 03:35 PM

I'm not having a go at you Withano :p Nor do I think an entire demographic should be 'ignored' as you put in a post earlier. I just don't see why it should always be insults and implications that they don't have their own mind and so on tbh. All series a select group of posters have been very insulting towards older people (usually as they do not like chanelle...so they are automatically jealous old cat ladies) despite knowing this is against the rules. Its being ignored and the insults and implications keep coming. Maybe this is not the thread to bring this up in but it seemed relevant with the argument already going on...

I really cannot wait for off season when everyone gets normal again and stops insulting each other and baiting and just...get along

sits in a corner singing 'happy happy house, happy house, happy house'

Edit. It goes the other way too. Some series we get posters annoyed that a young goodlooking guy survives eviction and blames it on the 'teenyboppers' who are' thirsty'. X factor is particularly bad for this. people seem unable to accept that others have a different opinion and because of this they make the person out to be a ****ing idiot who is voting with their vagina...as my sig says

The only "insults" I've seen towards older women are references to being "cat ladies" or "Facebook moms" and, because IT IS objective, they really aren't insults imo. It's not like people are going around the forum going "ugh I bet all the old ****s are voting for [insert housemate] for [insert reason]" - THAT is being rude and insulting.

:clap1: you articulate so well so much of what I am thinking, I'm bored witless by the constant theme that women/girls only vote based on who they find "hot" and this from a forum that professes to love women..bizarre

I've answered and explained why i think that and you ignored it. Repeating the question won't make my answer any different.

If I repeat myself you would only ignore it again because you don't like the answer.

Withano 28-07-2017 04:38 PM

im not sure when the right time to bring this up is... But the poll results are the complete opposite to tellymix.
Although, it's not unanimous, and I feel like it could have been in past series'.

You and I both know you opened this silly thread to get a reaction, its clear baiting, thats why I wasn't going to comment on it, but reading the rude comments I decided to ,if it wasn't the last night I would open a thread (also aimed at baiting ) asking who the gays, blacks, straights were going to vote for, You already got warned earlier in the series about the childish "cat ladies" and that was dropped a little ,so your next insult came in the form of "older women" so transparent and boring ..Time to grow up my dear

Your poll is inaccurate as most of the pollsters are not older women :hehe:

They really are. Maybe you don't find it insulting because it wasn't directed at you

I can't remember what thread it was but I myself was referred to a cat lady on Tibb, and it was posted as an insult after a disagreement with the person in question. There's nothing wrong with speaking about demographics at all - as long as it's not insulting. Using phrases like the one mentioned is rude and uncalled for. If I created a thread asking "Who will the "young gays' vote go to?" people would be all over the report button quicker than flies to a dog turd.

I too have been called a cat lady as an insult ,even though a certain member ( I cannot think who it was ) lied and said it was taken from Facebook

Dead right, this place would be up in arms calling us homophobic

You cannot have it both ways ,either everything goes or respect is shown to all
