I don't really have much to say about Chet apart from the fact I just found his character and the dispute with his stepbrother a little ... tedious and I feel like no difference would be shown to the show if he wasn't in it so all in all just a little bit pointless and someone that shouldn't been eliminated in the first set of nominations.

Loads of people are gonna use the whole "bland" or "offensive" complaint over and over again, so I'm not gonna go there too much since it's an overused topic. Basically Mike is uninteresting, inaccurate to his disorder, and a way too extreme portrayal of it to be considered appealing by a majority of people. But I think even not counting all that, Mike still utterly falls flat for me. Unlike virtually every other protagonist in the series (including Zoey), Mike just isn't able to make any appeal standalone. His MPD gags are repetitive, his relationship is paper-thin, etc.

He himself is also EASILY the most hateable and unlikeable of all the quote-unquote "heroic" characters they've had on this show. He goes on the show after being strongly advised by both his doctor AND his therapist that it's dangerous for him and everyone else involved, he straddles along TWO girls for his own gain and is too much of a coward to make up his mind and caused their conflict to begin with, he repeatedly b**ch talks people like Scott before even meeting them, he completely keeps his multiple personalities under wraps out of his own cowardice, and ALL of this is included with nothing but high dosages of his whingy, drippy self-pitying attitude, CONSTANTLY trying to justify or excuse why he does such vapidly morbid things by either a) bringing his 'personalities' into it or b) saying he doesn't want to hurt Zoey's feelings or something stupid like that. I genuinely think he's the worst human being the show's ever cast and if he's not gonna get called out on it or repeatedly get comeuppance for being such a scumstain then where's the appeal at all?

The pinnacle of his gross behavior is the time during the AS finale, in which he steals Fang's shark tooth and tosses it onto his OWN helper Alejandro on purpose for no reason but to look cool and spring away while screaming "HAHA, SEE YA CAM!" And THEY'RE meant to be the villains here? He's just such a disgusting animal, I can't with him. Get out.

You best believe I'm NOT letting my queen, my mother, the embodiment of my will to live go anywhere. Honestly try name a more iconic character than Amy who isn't Heather. She was robbed of her time in PI and was honestly a highlight for the first three episodes "Oink Oink spot the attention hog!"

He's actually little more than a blank slate and hopefully if they ever do bring him back they'll give him some proper development

There's always been a certain charm I have for Katie and Sadie. Their friendship was so cliche yet cute, and their petty arguing in The Sucky Outdoors was low-key hilarious ("And I'm sorry I said your butt was too big for the bus seat!" "You did?!" "Well not to your face..." :joker: ). Luckily, they got over the argument in a nice, cute way. Sadie's reaction to Katie's elimination and Katie's motivational speech to her before she left is where I started to gravitate towards the both of them.

There was just something human about their friendship, which was apparent despite their lack of screentime. Most of the other friendships were never really explained or developed and were either shown once (Gwen and Bridgette) or not at all (Courtney and LeShawna) and in both of the aforementioned cases, we never see the reaction to their friends' eliminations. Sadie being upset to the point of clinging onto the dock and her excitement of seeing Katie again just felt so real, and of course their friendship was bound to be stronger than the other friendships formed since they were best friends for years, but that doesn't take away the charm of their friendship, especially since some TDRR teams who were in essentially the same boat as them didn't have that charm, which is why I believe Katie and Sadie stand out (and should've been in TDRR).
While we never saw them compete in any season besides TDI, they were the stars of the aftermaths. They certainly felt like the most vocal in the peanut gallery (at least, out the non-qualifiers) and their enthusiasm and fangirling were always a welcome presence to me, and left me wanting more (which we sadly never got </3)

Most of this writeup has been about Sadie and Katie, but they're both important parts of their character. That's not to say Sadie isn't her own character. She took on board Katie's advice and really put her all into the challenges despite how badly affected she was by Katie's departure. Sadly, she took a backseat once Katie left, which is a shame since she shown promise and whatever screentime she had proved she could be entertaining and her own character without Katie, and we haven't seen them separated since.

This is a incoherent mess, I'm aware, but I just have this weird attraction to Sadie. She is DEFINITELY the best out of the ten nominated, at least in my opinion. There's more they could do with her character, and it's such a shame she never returned to compete again. Or maybe I'm just a hardcore Dundie fan who is obsessed with the crack ship (so much so my own rumour was noticed by Christine Thompson who debunked it </3)

The Adversity Twins are people I don't have an exact opinion on. Their gag felt very Total Drama-esque, given how obsessed Total Drama is with pain and hurting teenagers, and while it should've been funny, I just... couldn't care?

There's not much to say to be honest. They were just... there. What I did find funny is their rankings - placing mostly 12th (and 12th overall, as well as appearing in twelve episodes), which was foreshadowed by them saying something along the lines of being "unlucky, or whatever becomes before thirteen".
And while that was funny, it wasn't. Yes, it was ironic and a nice tidbit, but they didn't provide much to the series. Their friendship with the Sisters was short lived, and sadly that was the only noteworthy aspect of the Adversity Twins (and then Emma got them eliminated lmao). I suppose the redeeming quality of them is that they overcame so much, but that point was only really made during their elimination - they never made a big deal about how well they've done given circumstances, and for that I just... couldn't care? If they visibly struggled and there was a clear narrative as to how strong they became, I would hold a higher opinion on them, but yeah, just very boring.

What rubs salt into the wound is the fact that teams with more potential that should've made it further than they did didn't, most notably Mother and Daughter, the Fashion Designers, and the Geniuses (I'm always going to be petty about the Genius' - if we got to see a more logical and intelligent approach to such a physical competition I would be very interested in that point of view, especially since Noah was too busy gushing over Emma to fill that slot once they left). Characters like Staci and Leonard are somewhat enjoyable as their gags are short lived and not repeated, but sadly the same can't be said about the Twins. Such a shame, really, if they got time to develop a cliche storyline about overcoming fears and adversity (it's literally in their name) they would be higher in my rankings, but yeah... they're nothing special or noteworthy.
