The suspect should be more afraid of nessa being on the jury she has the worst judgment when it comes to men.

Well if it's a good looking man in the dock, he's getting a not guilty verdict.

Just what I was thinking - regardless of what terrible crime he may have committed. A bit worrying really.

Personally I think that the best system for jury duty would be to have people volunteer themselves forward rather than forcing people into doing it that would rather be anywhere else.

Nah, then you wouldn't get a "jury of peers", you'd get a jury of wannabe judges.

The point of the way it's done, is that you're supposed to get a selection of "normal people".

It's a responsibility not everyone wants . I'm not sure if I'd want to .

I've never understood why they do this. There are people with Law degrees, who live for **** like this. Why cant people be hired to do this as a job, instead of getting Joe-public to engage with something they dont care for and will likely have no background in.

It's a really fundamental part of the law that its your peers and equals who judge you though not a class of well off professional lawyers

Not lawyers. Just people with a bachelors in law, or a basic understanding of the law. (Although I didnt know that, that is helpful.. I just think my idea is better).

I did it a few years ago. I was nervous about it beforehand but I found it interesting.

I got called up again recently but I found out a day or so before that I didn't have to go.
