To be fair, it was already confirmed that whoever is making the decisions has become dangerously unbalanced when they signed off on the idea to make mods look like normal users, whilst retaining mod abilities. Barmy. This is just the next phase. I for one am quite excited about what's coming next :laugh2:

Given current traffic of each forum, there's no need for soaps to be separate from general TV chat, and in fact, the entire TV subforum could quite easily be annexed by Tech, Movies and Games (becoming Tech, Movies, TV and Games). At the very least, if keeping two separate forums, "Tech & Games" + "Movies & TV" would make much more sense. Just sayin.

The current title of the forum might just be temporary - just to show where the celebrity-news-type topics go now.

Those type of threads make it difficult to get - and keep - advertising, which pays for the site.

The Celebrity News forum was mainly being used for reporting celebrity deaths, and those can go in the SD&N forum. If people want to post celebrity nonsense in this forum - well it's all part of the news agenda - just look at any newspaper or news site.

But there didn't seem to be much interest in those type of threads in the Celebrity News forum.

What about in the private section? :eyes:

Soaps forum is actually quite busy - so that is not on the hit-list.

I don't agree TV should be combined with Movies and Games.

That's a possibility. There is actually quite a lot of games threads posted.

I still think some kind of general Arts and Culture subforum would be popular, there's loads of theatre shows for example that I think would get attention (there was a Mean Girls one recently for example) and so much more that could go in there, and celebrity news would also slot into that quite nicely... maybe something like Arts, Culture and Celebrity News to replace the old celebrity one?

A forum I used to be on had an ad free unmoderated / uncensored "subscription" subforum that you could get into for £3 a Month... It was absolute chaos :joker:. Just outright warfare and filth.

But I can't see many people on here being up for that [emoji23]... Cheapskates.

Though you could also anonymously pay for subs for other members, so maybe if we have a rich and pervy benefactor :think:.

OR you could have porn ads all over it and only add people who are definitely over 18.

Just rename it to Serious Scandals, "Fake" News and Celebrity Gossip... all-inclusive :love:... it doesn't take itself so seriously... like the other TiBB states.

As for the change, I disagree with it tbh but meh. Would have much preferred celeb + news, then serious debates separate. But it seems getting SD separated off is definitely not going to happen.

Celebrity & News and a separate Serious Debates is the logical answer. And Celebrity is more a Chat and Games thing. I would suggest we took a vote, if it was any kind of "democracy", or anyone actually cared what the forum members think.

There used to be 'serious debates' on its own, and 'news' was quite separate. People were unhappy when the two were amalgamated but forum members aren't consulted - ever. And once a decision has descended from on high, there's no changing it. Shoving 'celebrity' in there too just makes a mockery of the whole idea of having a serious discussion. I see this as TiBB setting out its stall for the future.
