Obama won the most votes
Clinton won the most votes...

Ergo they had a mandate

George Bush didn’t the first time and I’d have argued then he shouldn’t have gone to Iraq because of it

Read up on your facts next time

If you shoot a gun in London you deserve what’s coming to you especially in this high security climate.

Obama won the popular vote by nearly 10 million votes.

Trump LOST the popular vote by nearly 3 million votes.

... It doesn't apply at all?

Don’t you dare tell me what you think I meant.

I clearly said trump didn’t win the most votes and the system elected him... therefore he was undemocratically elected

Regardless it is the system - he won - people really need to get over it. The same people are sulking about Trump and Brexit because the votes didn’t go their way - diddums!

So don’t continue calling him democratically elected.

He won - that’s all that counts in a democracy!

No... democracy is getting the most votes and winning. That’s the whole point of a democracy otherwise it’s an autocracy...

like Underscore said, it means you shouldn’t exactly be describing him as democratically elected. Hillary Clinton won the popular vote. Donald Trump lost but because of the ridiculous electoral college thing they have over there, Trump still won.

This.

Hell I’d go and move there just to vote for her.

Trump was democratically elected because it was the democratic system that all parties agreed to abide by

love it:cheer2:

I hope it's not too small tho, Trump deserves the best and the biggest

user104658 06-07-2018 10:17 AM

Trump was democratically elected.

Trump is legitimately the elected president of the United States.

Trump does represent the United States as an entity.

... Trump however CANNOT be described as representing the majority of US citizens. The figures show that he simply does not. He represents almost, but less than, half of them. Those are the figures and I have no idea how anyone can argue with cold hard numbers :joker:.

That’s the system that all were aware of. Can’t change the system because it didn’t work in your favour. Sick of all the sore losers trying every trick in the book to overturn democracy when it suits and the constant whinging and whining. It won’t change anything. You would be blowing a gasket if it were the other way round.
