Unless Love Island goes to the main ITV channel or they air one CBB a year in January and regular BB in September?

Honestly that doesn't sound as unfeasible as you might think.. and one CBB and one BB per year is good imo

Oaker 13-09-2018 07:49 PM

It would probably be on ITVBe if we're being realistic

Jack_ 13-09-2018 07:51 PM

Honestly unless it went back to C4 I'd be quite interested to see what Netflix/Amazon would do with it, we'd probably get the US format and live feed to go with it

armand.kay 13-09-2018 07:52 PM

C5: so we're not gonna be renewing Big brother
Big Brother:

I'm pretty confident an online streaming service will pick it up, and it'll use the North American format as Jack said.

I'd also imagine if that happened that we could see the potential housemate pool expanded to other english speaking nations (We already have UK & Ireland, I could see entrants from Aus and NZ, for example)

Oaker 13-09-2018 07:54 PM

This sounds dumb but like would someone like Netflix be able to merge BBUS and UK if both of them end up getting axed?

Like just making one big global Big Brother

The original format exists in more places than the North American one :p

And I'm not sure how much longer we're gonna have either of those tbh

where??

In terms of an English speaking BB, I'm pretty sure BBUK is the only one without the hoh/veto elements and a focus on public votes rather than HM's strategically nominating

India (depending from which region in India because there are 7 versions of the show due to language), and Nigeria though

BREAKING NEWS: Hertsmere Borough Council have APPROVED Endemol’s planning application to retain the Big Brother house until 30th September 2022 #BBUK #CBB @endemolshineuk

The fact that if it had been denied would mean the series would have had to be cancelled a day before launch is a MESS

Well it means the house is safe at the very least which would suggest at the very least that Endomol have some form of plan for the future

No, Channel 5 have pretty much confirmed that they aren’t doing Big Brother in any form next year so we shall have to see what happens.

It makes me wonder if they are holding out till 2020 for a BB20 for 2020 and relaunch it with a 20th anniversary?

Not true. Ben Frow said he is "planning for a year without BB". That is defo not a confirmation that they arent doing it in any form next year. People "plan" for emergencies for example, in case they happen but it does not mean they are going to happen or even expected to happen. His wording was done very carefully and intentionally and should not be misinterpreted like this.
