I'm sorry but no one forced her to take heroin!

If your best friends dad had a heart attack and they were upset, would you say "Well no one forced him to overeat and smoke!"? Or a lung cancer victim? Or someone injured in a parachute jump? Or or or. Obviously it's not exactly the same but people do all sorts of things, for all sorts of reasons, and it doesn't mean you can't feel bad for them when their life derails  |

I'm sorry but the thing is no one forced her
|
It's kinda easy for someone with a clear mind to say well no one forced her though, from her history it's clear she has some unresolved mental and insecurity issues and likely took drugs as a form of escape rather than just being careless.

As someone who's lost a relative to heroin addiction I hope none of you have someone similar go through the same... not because it'd be an obvious harrowimg experience, but because I can't imagine having support like the like seen on here...

..I don’t really know much about Demi tbh...she’s not someone I’ve followed in her celebrity career...but heroin is a demon addiction once it has you in it’s hold...I hope she manages to escape that hold...I hope she has the support circle, the strength, the force of her fan’s well wishes...I hope it all comes together for her to find a path that isn’t a destructive one...good luck, Demi.....

I wish her a speedy recovery.
I don’t know Demi, but it sounds like she has succumb to the temptation, hopefully she will get all the love and support to help her fight the battle of her addiction. |

Also, other than that one post most of her point seemed to be that "No one forces someone to be an addict, therefore it is their own fault, therefore they deserve no sympathy". It's true that no one forces it, though there can be complicated circumstances, so "whose fault it is" is tricky and irrelevant. Either way, someone being in a bad position through making mistakes is still deserving of compassion and sympathy... why wouldn't they be? NO ONE is perfect. Some people **** up worse than others, but we all **** up. If an addict hasn't done anything to hurt anyone (other than themselves, and their loved ones because of what they're doing to themselves) then why wouldn't people be compassionate? It's different when someone has turned to violent crime like mugging people to support a habit, I get it when people lack sympathy then, but most addicts are not actually violent criminals . [edit] I'm not trying to lecture you on this parm as I know from past posts there's absolutely no need to. I'm just pointing out that people have very valid reasons for criticising Ailiyah's posts. |
