Yup. I won’t deny that I think veganism’s rooted in weak sentimentality for the most part. Like I’ve already said. Or that too big a number of vegans are intolerant and all-imposing on meat and dairy consumers.

I still don’t see how that’s overly nasty towards vegans specifically though. Maybe because I’m not ultra-PC about describing movements like veganism or on the lookout to take offense from meat eaters at the drop of a hat.

You don't think calling a whole group of people weak, intolerant and all-imposing based on their diet because of a few people you've met is nasty? Bloody hell, banging my head off a brick wall here then, clearly.

What I actually find hilarious is some (not all of course ;) ) meat eaters reactions to vegetarians and vegans, it's ultra defensive even alot of times when people just say they're either vegan or vegetarian, no preaching just stating the fact that they are. It's really weird.

No idea what "PC" has to do with this conversation at all btw

by and large, I admire vegans and vegetarians, tho still not convinced it is an optimal diet considering humans are omnivores by design
a time will come (the sooner the better) when we will able to grow meat in vats on industrial scale; it will be identical to live animal meat
when that happens people of the future will look back at slaughtering animals for food as barbaric

PC is just a catch-all term at this point that's used by people incapable of arguing their points properly so they'll just accuse something they dislike of being 'PC' or 'Political' to try to discredit it without the effort.

Pure laziness.

re. overpopulation
I heard somewhere (ri xmas lectures I think) that reproduction rates are already falling, even in the 3rd world
but the way demographic pyramid curve works we are in for an increase in numbers this century and only then it will start falling, we're set to reach ~10-11 bln before that happens
...wish I remembered how it worked bc it was illuminating...

Nothing about my posts up there wasn’t backed up well enough on a personal level. I didn’t know I had to swear by an oath of pedancicity just to express an opinion someone doesn’t like.

Apparently, certain blood groups suit being veggie(A) and certain suit eating meat (O) and B apparently is good with both. I've not actually looked into that very much though so I'm not sure how scientific it is

I wasn't actually referring to you, I was responding to Niamh's point about this not being a political issue.

yup, same as virtue-signalling
you can't show any positive feelings and thoughts like empathy, understanding or tolerance bc that's virtue-signalling
you can't actually possess any virtues, it's all just virtue-signalling
suppose people like Jesus, Buddha or Gandhi made virtue-signalling their full time occupation  lefty bastards

There is a book on that subject called Eat right for your blood group or something like that ! Most people don't even know what blood group they are.

I'm B neg

user104658 06-12-2018 07:41 AM

Well it says Type O (which I am) should eat high protein and avoid grains, which is historically the diet I function best on (but I love carbs :bawling: ).

However that's anecdotal and there's no real evidence at all that blood-type-diets are real and not just baseless naturopath nonsense :joker:.

Yeah I only found out my own blood group when I was pregnant, I'm A+ so veggie diet should suit me according to that

Yeah, I haven't really looked into it and whether or not there's any truth to it

All the steak and chicken tikka I’ve been eating from Subway obviously wasn’t real meat then.

You’re not funny.

armand.kay 06-12-2018 10:31 AM

this is one of the resons why PETA's post really pissed me off people are now looking at this and putting this mess on all of vegasm. Let it be clear that when peta made they post they were dragged by everyone vegans, non vegans, people who don't eat....

another thing that pissed me off is that this is just another in many of peta's borderline rascist tweets in which they liken black and jewish peoples experiances to what animals are going through....They've been called out on it so many times but keep doing it. As a black vegan I don't claim them, I mean they routinely murder a bunch of animals themselves though....
