I DON'T watch Superhero movies that aren't comedies (Deadpool for example lol) or like the Spiderman/Dark Knight ones... but people are making it so tempting for me to watch this :joker:

Watch it Jersey, you won't be disappointed.

It was pretty good, haven’t seen the other films so wasn’t entirely sure of everything that was going on but I enjoyed it

Reading a few reviews online, there seems to be mixed thoughts on one particular scene.

Spoiler:

The all female segment near the end. When all the female heroes (except BW) gather together to kick ass

Smh there's people who are actually getting angry over this. I loved it wtf is wrong with them :umm2:

LukeB 27-04-2019 10:33 PM

Does anyone love this badass?

But why would he feel guilty tho? He wanted to kill him since IW.

I want to eat cheeseburgers about 90% of the time, but when I cave in I feel guilty, because it means I'll be flabby and spotty.

Spoiler:

The comparison being, Thor wanted to kill the maniac who was whupping everyone in sight with nigh a bead of sweat, and who heartlessly wiped out half of sentient life; the Thanos they met was a sad old man who lived in a hut and was crippled by his own power , and who was at their mercy.

I didn't even notice it was an all female scene tbh. It would have been cringey if they made a big thing of it, but it was just something that happened.

Also, Iron Gwyneth <3

How? I thought she was born in like the 1980s and she and Quicksilver were experimented on all their lives, I didn't think she or both of them were older... but then, I've not seen Ultron in ages

Good point, although I still feel like he shouldn't have felt guilty about it. Thanos wiped out half of the universe, as well as killing his brother.

To be honest I cringed a bit at that scene. It was very on the nose. I think some people might be getting angry because...

Spoiler:

Some of the other female characters - of the ones that survived Infinity War and you thought could have played a big part - were only in the film for a little bit, apart from Nebula. Captain Marvel only has small amount of screentime, and Okoye is barely in it at all (despite being on poster). And Natasha, who does get more to do, gets killed off earlier.

So to some people it will look a bit like the all-female segment was the film-makers throwing a bone to the idea of female superheroes playing a part in these films, and nothing more.

I guess they've got a time-machine now? It's the only way I can think that the TV series could be set in the 50s.

Ramsay 27-04-2019 11:49 PM

Yes that scene was very cheesy and felt very forced. Was only a few seconds so didn't mind it too much

Niamh. 28-04-2019 09:47 AM

Of course if it was a group if men no one would have even noticed or batted an eyelid but its women so cheesy/cringey, yep we still.have a way to go

Tbh I found it cringey exactly for that reason.

It was like the director was told last minute he had actresses contracted to appear so gave them a random shot in the middle of the action. How insulting.

The treatment of Black Widow in most of these movies has never been great but this one inparticular was diabolical.

Marsh. 28-04-2019 10:33 AM

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed Nebula though.

How? She was a defacto leader (she was hosting the conference call; they were all running stuff by her), she helped put them together; and she made the decision to sacrifice herself, and fought tooth and nail to actualise it.

Yeah, with infinity war I was so confused because I only watch avengers films, none of the individual ones. But I just found a marvel phase 4 recap and I'm going to endgame later so :fc: I understand and enjoy

The defacto leader who was relegated to the background once the male heroes decided they'd like to take part again.

Then died because the mass murderer had more to live for (ie. Has kids). That's not a sexist trope. :hehe:

LukeB 28-04-2019 12:32 PM

Marsh you really need to point that in spoiler...

Smithy 28-04-2019 01:48 PM

Why? If you haven’t seen the film why would you come into a thread discussing the film :conf2:
