caprimint 01-05-2019 08:38 AM

New month!!! Going to try and go for longer than a week this time, potentially even for the entire month?!?

Maybe if I actually got hangovers then I wouldn't wanna drink as often :worry:

reece(: 01-05-2019 11:53 AM

Did the spewing not tempt you to stop forever?

queen of day five

Braden 06-05-2019 11:32 AM

congratulations!

stick with it! I promise it'll be the best decision you ever make. I was twenty months sober at one point, and it was beneficial in so many ways:

- no expense spared on ridiculously priced drinks/club entrance tickets
- clear conscience and no horrific hangovers (which made me want to quit in the first place)
- increased desire to work on physical health
- for me, I stopped smoking completely as the two habits went hand in hand
- spent more time doing things I wanted to do, as oppose to getting drunk as it seemed like the socially acceptable thing to do.

Braden 06-05-2019 11:35 AM

other things:

- alcohol tastes horrible, sorry about it
- you'll find yourself developing new hobbies/interests if you find yourself getting bored because of it.

I didn't drink at all for 9 months last year and it didn't really bother me at all (probably because before then I hardly ever drank at all, like maybe once every few months on average?), then I started again when the World Cup was on and drank a looot more often then and it turned into like a few days a week. D:

But actually it's not that difficult once you get into it yknow?

Saving money is one of the main things for me for sure. I don't get hangovers so that doesn't bother me too much but I've noticed I've felt more 'clean' when not drinking

How much would you drink a night if you were just drinking normally?

On an average night of drinking: probably 2 small bottles of wine (18.5cl about 12% each) and maybe a malibu/vodka with diet coke. That's enough to get me really drunk.

Before I always drank cider, so probably 3 ciders and a malibu or something.

So it's not really that much alcohol, but it's more so how often that I was doing it more so than the quantity consumed.

I've never been drunk and consequently never had a hangover.

I'm, like... an angel or summin'.

Spoiler:

(although I have enjoyed a spliff or two in my time...)
