This is largely irrelevant as the bulk of sales are within China. It's not a true reflection of global market share any more than Weibo usage represents a share of social media dominance.

[UK bans Huawei equipment installations from September 2021
amid stockpiling concerns
The acceleration follows concerns that
telecoms providers were stockpiling equipment
which they will be banned from buying.]



British telecoms providers will be banned from
installing 5G equipment manufactured by Huawei
from next September, the government has said,
even if they still have unused stock.

Although British companies were already
set to be banned from purchasing new equipment
from the end of this year, the new rules will address
concerns that radio equipment
was being stockpiled to be installed at a later date.

In the Commons today, Digital Secretary Oliver Dowden
will set out the government's roadmap for
removing all Huawei equipment from the
UK's 5G networks by 2027 in the second reading
of the Telecommunications (Security) Bill,
which will make the ban lawful.]

Huawei's Meng Wanzhou flies back to China after deal with USA

[A Chinese technology executive held in Canada
on US fraud charges has left the country
after a deal with prosecutors,
following years of diplomatic tensions over her fate.
Meng Wanzhou, chief financial officer of Huawei,
was detained on fraud charges in December 2018
at the request of the US.
On Friday, the US Department of Justice dropped
an extradition request for her.
The case infuriated China and strained relations
with the US and Canada.
It also prompted accusations that China had
detained Canadian citizens in retaliation,
which China denied.

"My life has been turned upside down.
It was a disruptive time for me,"
Ms Meng told reporters after being freed from Canadian detention.]
