It was a job interview, and like everyone else at a job interview, they were saying what they think we want to hear.

These debates just confirm the Tories are finished come another GE. Everyone is sick of these politics, and want change - even if it's Brexit party...

Livia 19-06-2019 01:17 PM

I think the Tories and Labour are finished unless one or both of them comes up with some kind of radical change of plan.

there is nothing radical coming from them though. Labour are contemplating a remain path at the moment apparently and last nights "debate" showed that none of them have a solution. The only way we will leave the EU is if the EU say to us that our time is up

Can't see the EU saying that. Not while we're still paying in money.

had enough of BBC mess ups.

I do think that,(debate),well Q&A session, by the BBC was the most badly prepared, hopelessly presented, unprofessional and also even boring, I've come across since being interested in politics.

It looked and sounded empty, looked like it was done on the cheap and even amateurish.
To me anyway.

Oliver_W 20-06-2019 11:43 AM

Ehhh, I think anyone has the right to ask a question to the future PM. Some balance might have been nice.

An iman who's antisemetic and victim-blames women for getting raped? Whatever next!!!

arista 22-06-2019 08:58 AM

Also on BBCnewsHD from 3PM

The problem is that the BBC have shown/allowed political bias on a number of occasions now which makes it systematic and not a one off. They are a public service broadcaster, and it is against their charter to show bias

They have said this on twitter
[we will reissue our invitation for Mr Hunt and Mr Johnson to debate live on Sky News next Monday, 1 July]

The ITV Live Debate
is still to go ahead
but by then loads, would have voted.

i hope the bbc are going to give Hunt the same one on one high profile interview that they gave Boris ... otherwise their bias will be called out yet again :idc:

It was rather surprising that Johnson can refuse the suggested debates, then get a solo one with the BBC.

I don't want either as PM of the UK.
However in that Interview all Johnson did was give a clouded idea of leaving the EU, with no meat on the bones of how he'd deal with the still problems of Parliament.

To be fair, Hunt isn't saying anything as to that either.

This statement.
They need to have a plan to put forward on it all.

Well, sorry but they should have, and should be detailing that plan now.
If they haven't got said plan in place to go now.
They are not the people who should be seeking to be PM, never mind on the point of being put in as PM by the Conservative membership.

Not in my lifetime so far, nor in all past records I've studied of Prime Minister's and party leaders.
Have we ever been in this dreadful position of not only having the worst possible individuals as PM and Party leaders.
However to have even those seeking leadership also being the worst possible candidates too.
