A brave young police officer was killed “in the line of duty” in “truly shocking circumstances” as he attempted to stop three teenagers from stealing a quad bike, a trial has heard.
Pc Andrew Harper was dragged for more than a mile of winding country road, his uniform gradually stripped from his body, after his ankles got caught in a tow rope attached to the thieves’ car.
Henry Long, 19, drove at speed along the lane in Berkshire on the evening of August 15 last year, in such a fashion that the stricken officer was “swung side to side like a pendulum in an effort to dislodge him”, the Old Bailey heard.
Pc Harper eventually became disentangled but died from his injuries in the road.

Do you have evidence it does not?

Kizzy 23-06-2020 09:39 PM

We have armed police. Do we really want to live in a country where the local Bobby is armed?...I dont.

I want to see a return to community policing. It works.

All these heavy handed tactics, cuts to community services and reduced neighbourhood policing has massively backfired. It was the wrong call.

Gosh this is awful. So so so sad for his wife. If only he didn't take the call...

[Long, along with his passengers Jessie Cole (in red)
and Albert Bowers (in green), both 18,
have denied murder but admitted conspiring
to steal the £10,000 quad bike.

If he had a taser or some kind of incapacitating gas, he'd be alive...

If that's what you believe..thats fine.

If he was armed, your common cheap skate criminal like this lot would be armed as well.
