Also I would add, I think Britain should be offering asylum to people from Hong Kong without reservation. A huge number of Hong Kong citizens did not want to leave British rule. I honestly think if the eyes of the world weren't on them at the moment, there would have been an unprecedented violence by now.

They were found Frozen to Death
at -25.

‘In 2000, 58 Chinese migrants were found suffocated to death in a lorry at Dover. In 2015, the bodies of 71 people were found in an abandoned lorry on an Austrian motorway. Police suspected the vehicle was part of a Bulgarian-Hungarian human trafficking operation’

I agree. We take people from countries with no connection to our own it's only right we should offer them asylum, if that's what they want.

The saddest part is, I think HK people are proud of and love Hong Kong and what they really want is to be able to resist direct Chinese rule and continue as they are... and they are trying... but I just don't know how long they can possibly keep it up with China being so huge.

Yes, I agree with that. And China with its record on Human Rights being questionable at best and ****ing appalling at worst. I'm surprised it's taken this long, tbh...

yes 100 per cent

what I cant get my head around is the guy who picked up the container, where was he taking it, they were in the UK so you would have thought that was their destination and obviously if they were alive they would have got off at that point, where was he going with the container ...and why was it picked up at Purfleet

Of all places in China, Hong Kong has the most active links to the outside world - huge numbers of families there have relatives living all over the world, so I think they would find it much harder to cover up the specifics "than usual". Sadly the world is willing to overlook a lot, but an outright massacre would make it very hard for governments not to start sanctioning China heavily and that would be a disaster for them economically.

I'm doing a hell of a lot of agreeing with you today, TS.

They froze to death? That is horrible. I really hope the authorities can find anyone even partially responsible. There has to be a paper trail.

It's being reported they were dead for up to 12 hours before reaching the UK and with this driver picking up the trailer from the UK surely they cant go ahead with charging him with murder?

Marsh. 24-10-2019 09:12 PM

That guy's face being plastered all over the front pages. :umm2:

I bet the sicko morons on the Internet are delighted that the fact it's chinese people have opened up another 50 or so memes they can use...

This angers me, if this was British people the country would be in mourning...but no..I switch my tv on and it's still the same faces laughing about brexit.

Im ashamed to say that I forgot about that bigger tragedy when the same thing happened a good few years back.

What on earth have we become! !

arista 25-10-2019 11:39 AM

From what I've seen, "The Internet" is actually very supportive of Hong Kong's struggle at the moment. You're right about the mainstream news though.
