I really hope Matthew Lillard doesn't return though. Really not interested in seeing dead characters back again. And that includes Sidney's mother. :nono:

We want Kirby!!

This sounds odd. I'm sure in previous interviews she was very adamant about Sidney being a strong survivor and that not changing.

I know, I was jarred when I read it she has always maintained Sidney is a survivor but there was discussion on twitter and basically she's kinda over the character and wasn't a fan of Scream 3 or 4 so wants out

Same as Jamie Lee Curtis in Halloween Ressurection?

Amy Jade 01-08-2020 08:38 AM

Wes said Kirby was not dead when we last saw her so she could definitely come back imo

She could have stayed in contact with Sid and become a friend to her or even a new age Randy type character that has trust issues so stays holed up in her room and starts connecting the dots of murders and contacts Sid that she thinks Ghostface is back.

Amy Jade 01-08-2020 08:48 AM

Just imo but the rumoured Matthew Lillard return would be total bull. Orchestrating killers from prison sounds like the that Kevin Bacon show The Following and I refuse to believe him surviving that head smash and nobody ever being told or it being at least mentioned once.

The 'Maureen had another kid' storyline was a big stretch but at least it fit the character of Maureen although I still dont get why Roman blamed Sid, he had a nice life and career and Sid was as much as a victim as him but if I start picking at the stupidity of Scream 3 this thread will be crazy long

Can't bloody wait. Pretty sure Neve Campbell will join with a nice pay packet. Think she will end up dying in the fifth one if she wants it to end then that will be the end of the franchise.

Or at least Dewey or Gale will die.

Beastie 01-08-2020 11:20 AM

Think Courtney Cox will die in the opening sequence like the iconic Drew Barrymore in Scream 1.

Don't think this is official but thought it looked nice

The mask looks creepier. :worry:

OMG I’m so excited!

Oh no, the January slot does not bode well for this film. It's become a slot known for studios to basically **** out terrible horror films in the hopes of making a quick buck since there's little competition.

We've had some good January horror films haven't we?

Tom4784 29-08-2020 09:00 PM

I can't think of any. It's fast become kiss of death month for horror films.

Amy Jade 29-08-2020 10:00 PM

It's still in it's early stages and being cast so the studio cannot possibly know the lack of quality

That's what I thought. Maybe we'll be surprised.

Underwater this year was released in January iirc and I really enjoyed that.

Over the years there has been a fair few. I know what Dezzy means, January is notorious for studios to dump bad movies but we have had Cloverfield, Mama, From Dusk Til Dawn, Deep Rising, My Bloody Valentine.

Wizard. 29-08-2020 10:29 PM

I guess October 2020 is too soon and will have competition from Halloween 2 so it makes sense for it to be after Christmas

Glenn. 29-08-2020 10:41 PM

They missed an opportunity to market the 25th anniversary of Scream in December next year but I can see why they’ve opted for January. Avatar 2 being one of the reasons no doubt.

Halloween Kills will be next years Halloween film and I don’t think Scream would perform as well against that.

Cal. 29-08-2020 11:02 PM

Yeah Halloween (2018) was the most successful slasher movie of all time at the box office so they’ve likely moved it out of its way in the autumn of 2021 to give it a better chance.
