Yes, she is close to ideologically to Corbyn. They are both anti - British, IRA supporters.

Diane Abbott backed victory for the IRA in an interview with a pro-republican journal, The Sunday Times has found.
Abbott, who will become home secretary if Labour wins the election, said in the 1984 interview that Ireland “is our struggle — every defeat of the British state is a victory for all of us. A defeat in Northern Ireland would be a defeat indeed.”
The interview was found during research by The Sunday Times in Irish and republican archives

Hate to break it to you, but many people in the UK think NI should be united with ROI.
Dianne is not alone in this and it's certainly is not anti British. Britain occupied Ireland and the Irish have the right to self-determination.

Twosugars 23-11-2019 12:41 PM

Having said that it would require a referendum in the NI.

Another snipe... as I explained that is a well used phrase not media propaganda designed to smear Corbyn as too old to be PM.

You aren't breaking anything to me dear, I've lived in N.Ireland all my life. Yes, they do have a right, through democratic consent of the majority which will likely happen in the next 5 - 10 years. I have no problem with democracy, its murder I have a problem with.
You agree with Dianne and Corbyn then that the IRA had a right to murder thousands of men, woman and children to acheive their aims rather than by peaceful political means? Okay.
FYI the ROI repeatedly said they couldnt afford us and were quite happy with the staus quo.
You are really ignorant on this subject.

Whatever.
Create a dedicated thread about it if you want. We can discuss it there in detail.
Not arguing here with you.

A well used and accepted phrase by whom? why would you take issue with me using the phrase when you say its well used and accepted and it suited you to trot it out for those men in Teeside.

For the record I do not think it would be well used or accepted to describe anybody of any political persuasion.

There is nothing to argue. You either support the terrorism of murdering thousands of innocents or you don't. Maybe if you lived in the midst of the carnage for over 30 years you would get it. Seems like that is what it would take for some people to open their eyes unfortunately, their excuses for the IRA's actions and for Corbyns/Abbotts support are ignorant and sickening.

I dont support terrorism.
But it wasnt one sided was it. Plus Britain is responsible for oppression of the Irish for centuries.
We see around the world and through history that terrorists for some are freedom fighters for others.
We see former terrorists turning into later statemen.
That's how the world often works.

It seems to me that the best way to sort the shizer that we're all in and that we are all currently being fed by all sides, is by the judicious use of 36 barrels of gunpowder! Would be a dreadful shame to wreck the buildings though!
