Well, Linda Hamilton and Jamie Lee Curtis reprised their most famous roles while in their early 60's, so I don't see why not. Sure, there is a difference between early 60's and Harrison's late 70's, but the latter happens too rarely to conclude anything, anyway.

And there's also the recentish continuations of AbFab and Birds of a Feather, with the cute old ladies tottering around in their old roles

Omg, Mads Mikkelsen is on the movie!
Now I'm definitely going to watch it!

He may be 78, but he's still fit and healthy.

Erm old ladies playing old ladies versus old man playing action hero. Big difference.

I dunno... he was struggling in the LAST Indy film they did and that was quite a while ago now. I mean, Shia la Beefs was in it pre-existential-catastrophe.

To be fair, we don't know how much of an action hero Indy is gonna be in this one. Maybe he'll be an advisory tag along or something.

Also to be fair, he was better in Disney's first "Star Wars" movie than be was in Indy 4. He spent most of the latter looking like he wanted to go home, while in the former he seemed like he cared.

Mads Mikkelsen is in it. I'm excited. I love him!

…..yeah you got me there, there have been reprisals of roles with the same actresses still playing the character…the one I’d add to those you’ve said just from immediate thought would be Carrie Fisher and Princess Leia …I was probably grumpy when I typed that……I had just actually watched a movie called Honest Thief with Liam Neeson very much playing his Taken character role…(…I mean he wasn’t exactly because he was an honest thief but he was successful because he had skills …)…and we saw those skills throughout the movie …but it just didn’t work for me because his age didn’t make it believable but that was maybe more just not such a well story…but yeah, you’re right…it is more rare for that to be how it is…I don’t know actually whether Harrison as Indy will be involved in any action scenes or the extent of any action….but power to him…

He’s a great actor when given good material - I hope he’s not a one-dimensional villain type though, as he sometimes gets cast as that too (e.g. Doctor Strange)

He can be seen cycling up and down the hills in North Yorkshire and Northumberland.
Still looks good on a bike.

Omg he's one of my favourites.
And absolutely amazing on Bond.

[Supporting roles: Both Mads Mikkelsen, 55,
and Phoebe Waller-Bridge, 35, have also signed
on to appear in Indiana Jones 5 alongside Harrison

Indiana Jones 5 was first announced in 2016
and originally scheduled to be released in July 2019.

It was then pushed back a year, before being delayed
for another 12 months until July 2021 after
Jonathan Kasdan - whose father Lawrence Kasdan
wrote 1981's Raiders of the Lost Ark - was brought on board
to work on the script after original screenwriter
David Koepp departed the project.

The most recent film in the series was
2008's Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull,
which earned over $790.6 million at the global box office.

The current release date for Indiana Jones 5 is July 29, 2022.]

[Harrison Ford cheekily told a young fan that he
was Indiana Jones's stunt double after he
was spotted on set in North Yorkshire.
The 78-year-old, who is playing the
whip-cracking adventurer for a fifth time,
doffed his famous brown hat when he
was seen in the North Yorkshire
village of Grosmont.]

[The A-lister was noticed by eight-year-old
Evan Laven
as he emerged from a
tunnel in the village, which has a stop
on the North York Moors railway.]
