Birds of Prey is also coming to streaming soon as well, it's a good film.

Another major casualty of the film calendar, Disney has delayed the release of Marvel film Black Widow, as well as The Woman In The Window and the US release of The Personal History Of David Copperfield. New dates have not yet been finalised.

LukeB 17-03-2020 04:58 PM

Black Widow

I predict they will give Black Widow The Eternals's spot and put The Eternals out next year.

I heard a comment that the order they release the Marvel films and TV is important with all the TV shows that are starting.

Only a few hours late arista :pipe:

It was bound to happen with BW but I'm still annoyed. :fist:

There's a cinema near me still open.

I was a bit surprised.

Tom4784 19-03-2020 01:15 PM

It'll be interesting to see if any other studios follow Universal's lead and how that'll affect cinemas after the outbreak ends. If people get used too watching the latest releases at home and they sell well then I can see studios begin to cut cinemas out of the equation all together.

I can definitely see streaming starting to come faster - maybe movies "theatre exclusive" for a month then immediately available on "premium" streaming. But I think that's been on the cards for a while now anyway, the delay between cinema and home release has been getting shorter and shorter.

I wonder if Wonder Woman will be delayed.

Tom4784 20-03-2020 12:56 PM

Onward will be released on demand today and will be on Disney + by April 3rd.

Not an unexpected development, but surprising all the same.

Smithy 24-03-2020 05:46 PM

Wonder Woman and In The Heights have been delayed indefinitely

On Disney+ just as part of the package? That is a surprise as it won't even count towards box office like premium streaming. I guess they're sacrificing it's solo profits as a lure for Disney+ subs instead. Probably a good call, business wise.

Tony Montana 24-03-2020 10:51 PM

Oh ffs not Wonder Woman! :fist:

Oliver_W 28-03-2020 08:23 PM

Shame about WW84, WW and Shazam are the only tolerable DC movies (BvS and JL are guily pleasures:D) so I'm sad about WW84, and also Black Adam + Shazam 2 will probably never happen at this point...

Ghostbusters: Afterlife and Marvel’s Morbius pushed back to 2021

I think there will be a few major films that go straight to on demand before the year's over. There's too many films and not enough weekends to release all of 2020's content in 2021.

Amy Jade 31-03-2020 09:02 PM

I wouldnt be shocked if New Mutants was put on VOD or streaming straight away

Samm 01-04-2020 12:49 AM

the 2021 film award shows next year are going to be interesting :skull:

I'm surprised that Disney even gave it a release date in the first place, I think a lot of people expected it to become a Disney+ film when Fox was taken over.

Yeah I expected that, I'll wait and see if a directors cut appears because Disney+ will cut ut to ribbons to make it kid friendly
