how do people know she is a suicide risk? I think a lot of assumptions are being made ... also plenty people have to wait a year for trial, it's not that unusual if there is a lot of evidence to gather

if she doesn't stand trial she can't be convicted

she can, behind her back a trial, and then moving her to jail where she can rot

i don't think an accurate mental assessment will have been carried out yet, that process takes weeks. They will be erring on the side of caution for the moment, but it doesn't mean it will last until her trial
