I've only heard "betty" and it's so nice... reminds me of her older music.

What's the album like as a whole?? Similar to that or more pop ish?

Its all on that chill indie-pop level

Morgan. 24-07-2020 01:27 PM

Betty is probably the most poppy/upbeat of the album

Barry. 24-07-2020 01:52 PM

Not a fan of hers but I loved safe and sound so if it's like that I might give her a listen.

caprimint 24-07-2020 01:55 PM

Just gave the full album a quick listen now

I quite like "august" and "the last great american dynasty" too but I wouldn't listen to them out of choice  Only "betty" is the real standout of the album tbh

The rest are boring. If you heard a 20 second clip of any of the others it could all be the same song

Why does MM&I try to make every topic about his rather irrational hatred of Gaga?

I’ve given this a couple more listens and some of the songs have grown on me. The 1 is my fave, absolutely gorgeous, also like mad woman, epiphany, betty and whichever one she sings about an axe icr the name

Saph 24-07-2020 07:06 PM

I really like this, its SO much better than that tacky one from last year

Tom4784 24-07-2020 08:39 PM

I thought it was decent, one of her better albums.

JerseyWins 24-07-2020 08:58 PM

The great American one was best & Betty was pretty good too. I saved 4-5 songs (I think cardigan too) but great american was the main one I truly enjoyed listening to :clap1:

Bad overall but way better than Gags

Saph 24-07-2020 09:09 PM

you can tell its the same producer from Norman F Rockwell, the sound and lyrics are very similar

I realised after posting that the producer has worked on all of the Taylor albums so it might just be a coincidence lmao

A valued opinion :clap1:

Folklore has had the biggest ever Spotify debut by a female artist ever. She achieved it by over 10M streams. It is also not obviously the biggest ever Spotify release of 2020 females, dethroning Chromatica by almost doubling it.

Folklore - 80M
Chromatica - 45M

Wow the comparison is crazy, i guess it kinda shows there have been no big female releases for 2020 yet? Although Adele is likely to come out at some point

Brother Leon 25-07-2020 05:59 PM

Dua and Gaga’s albums are both better than this. Let’s keep it 100.

Dua and Taylor are both universally acclaimed which is good for them and their fans :clap1:

Yeah there haven't been any good releases in pop music so far this year so not surprising this album is destroying everything else
