Frightened he declassifies everything. They need him gone now.

Guliani is encouraging him to do it.

Do it Donald, JFK, 9/11 the works. Let's hear it all.

Pence hasn't ruled out invoking the 25th amendment

Will be interesting to see if Trump actually faces the consequences of his actions, and I mean more than just getting banned on social media. But It seems he always gets away with it :bored: .

Really there's so much he could be pulled up for it's where to begin.

One of the best things would be for the Republican party, to after the shocking incitement of him to those who stormed the governing building, for the Party to look like a credible one and remove his connection to it.

To ensure he never could be a possible candidate for them ever again in any capacity.

Shove him right out in the cold.

He can be called to account for his undermining democracy and incitement too of others to do so.

The end result of him not attending the inauguration of the next President should make it he never ever has any remote chance of attending one again.

If he's going to act like a spoiled brat or a baby, then take away his toys and sweets.
Leave him to it.

In other words write him off for good as to politics.
History will record him as the likeliest worst and most objectionable President of the USA ever.

Just throw him as the garbage he is, out on in 10 days time.
At last.

Trump will face consequences for this, and I also think it's important that congress registers what he has done and has a record of those that support and those that do not support his impeachment.

Trump was going to be lucky to avoid jail before the last week, thats why he did what he did, he is in an even worse position now

Impeaching him will ensure he can never run again, and that he'll lose the benefits of being an ex-president. It doesn't matter that his time is almost up, he should be impeached for everything he has done.

user104658 10-01-2021 01:44 PM

Yeah there are clear benefits to removing him from office even though he's almost out the door anyway.

That said... Not that I want to jinx it but... I don't think he's realistically running in 2024 either way. If he faces consequences then he won't be able to, if he doesn't he'll feel like he dodged a bullet and while he might blow smoke for another couple of years, ultimately he'll get comfortable playing golf all day and won't want to walk back into fire.

An impeachment can be done against former presidents so it doesn't matter if its nkt before he leaves

It'll likely damage his family's chances though, since I do think that, at some point, more Trumps will make a play for the White House.

I think they wanted to play at being a political dynasty and his sons do track well with conservatives, iirc. I don't think Trumpism ends with Donald Trump.

Yes could be.

Trumps Lawyer Alan Dershowitz
has said they can not impeach Trump
before he leaves office. (Live on Sunday Morning Futures)

Even General Colin Powell
live on CNN HD
said there is not enough time
to impeach Trump
he will be gone on just over a week.

He can still be impeached out of office

Agree with this. Trumpism isnt over. Both Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley are clearly after the Maga votes and Hawley has already been touted as a young Trumpist. Both are almost certain to run in 2024 if they arent forced to resign over their official objections to the election and attempts to over turn the result.

I dont see any of the Trump family having any kind of impact. They're all a bunch of deadbeats who would be nothing without Daddy's influence. I also dont see Donnie playing 2nd fiddle to any of his children either so he'll predictably try to rise again but hopefully he'll be prevented from ever running for any kind of office again. I hope they impeach him. They should already have the votes.

People focussing on Cruz and Hawley miss the point. There were 13 senators that were going to object to the electors decisions, and over 100 in the house, all positioning themselves for promotions. On top of that, 45% of republicans supported the attack, and none of the elected officials tried to stop trump at any point during the last 4 years.

Ivanka is rumoured to have her eye on Marco Rubio's senate seat because they are finished in NY and they've just bought a prime plot of land down there.

Agree. There were an number of senators who still stated their objections after the rioters had been dispersed and the session reconvened. All should go, in my opinion, with Cruz and Hawley being the two we can almost be certain will run in 2024. Hawley though was the first senator to even talk of objecting to the result so he gets special attention.

As much as I'd like to see Rubio unseated do we think Senator Ivanka will happen? I'm not sure. They're not going to go away, its a case of how much garbage will they be allowed to get away with.

arista 11-01-2021 03:10 PM

It may come to the senate on the 19th.

On the 19th President Trump is flying to Florida
As on the 20th Biden takes over.

They will use the fact Trump said "Go In Peace"

Denver 12-01-2021 09:21 PM

McConnell is said to be pleased that the dems are planning to impeach Trump and sees it as a great opportunity to purge him from GOP
