It wasn't a big deal. He basically apologised to Trisha Goddard after she spoke about the racist abuse she was on the receiving end of after his piss takes of her went to air and has said he regrets how ignorant he was of how public representation of minorities affected their real lives.

I think you will find he has been on quite a few Reality TV shows in fact he has appeared on about 45. So not only is he a celebrity...he is a successful reality star. He made a career of it...I would think he has earned a pretty penny.

I meant I can't imagine he discusses his TV work as a career. :hee:

I have no doubt he's made a fortune from them.

Its amazing what you can do with a famous parent. He has no discernible talent...or personality. He has made a career out.of it though so fair play to him

He has made a career as a reality TV star for the last 15 years since the age of 25. :hee:

I quite like Bo Selecta, I still watch it sometimes, but Trisha is the only "impression" that doesn't sit well.

wouldn't HAVE, I swear to god I'll drown you in a toilet if you keep doing that :joker:

Stop trying to be the grammar police , you knew exactly what I was saying so stop being rude to people .

Keith deserves every success solely for these clips.

Series of random jobs isn't much of a career. :hee:

Oh I wasn't aware he apologized to Trisha, I thought it was just Mel B!

I'm glad though, Trisha was pretty much the worst one he did.

Bollo 24-02-2021 10:00 PM

Well I'm not one to judge on who 'deserves' their success as obviously there is an audience for certain people otherwise they wouldn't be on TV... but the people I can't stand to watch and turnover if they come on are;
Paddy McGuiness
Peter Kaye
James Corden
Lee Evans
Ross Noble
Clare Balding
Rosie Jones
Bird off the one show

Like others before I also have no time for Leigh Francis & Holly Willoughby...

Why don’t you stick with the topic of the thread instead of debating someone’s career and whether you think it’s a career or not. Its my opinion on the topic matter...if you don’t like it bad luck.

That's literally the topic sweetheart.

Actually it WAS a big deal Marsh , but I wasn't aware at first how badly he mocked Trisha as I never really watched Bo selecta . And I was more familiar with his other grotesque portrayals of Mel B , Craig David & Michael Jackson.

If you watch life stories with Trisha ,she explains how her kids received racist remarks of people mimicking terrible Jamaican accents of "rice & peas" . Plus she herself got treated badly aswell.

Leigh Francis' Trisha sketches are cringy and not funny , plus she doesn't even have a Jamaican accent  . So it just ended up reinforcing embarrassing black stereotypes. So yeah it's aged badly .

I meant Keith Lemon apologising wasn't the big deal the other poster was making it out to be. As though he was being forced to apologise for something he didn't need to.

He acknowledged his mistake which is fair play.

People slated him for apologising probably because they themselves didn't see Bo selecta as offensive.

And because when there's a public apology , there's a hint of scepticism . Probably because we're so use to seeing PR questionable set ups.

But Trisha has clearly accepted his apology netherless and moved on so yeah  .

Yep, they don't like to acknowledge that something they found funny was racist. It's a form of defensiveness.

At first I thought he was apologizing for the Mel B stuff, and doing that would be a bit "virtue signal"ish because there's nothing racial about that "impression". So yeah slating him for grovelling over that would be fair play.

But Trisha? Even at the time that was cringey...
