Because he probably felt bad that someone receiving so much hate and media attention isn’t even being protected when she has a child too. And he’s a Billionaire so he thought he would do the Royal Institute’s job for them and help a friend.

...so they were friends before or...?..I was just wondering if it was more an act of kindness for people he didn’t know so well or that he did know...it’s a very beautiful thing regardless, but I was thinking, did they have friendship history, you know...
