Anyway, the reason im popping in is to ask what 'licencing' a name actually means? Is it like, a future or current celeb wont be legally allowed to use that particular name as stage name or something??

It basically means nobody can use that name as a brand AFAIK. Not that nobody can have that name.

Just as a brand though right? Trying to not come across dumb, but they wouldn't be able stop parents naming their child the same name, would they?

…I read a few days ago that William wasn’t coming for that but I can’t recall the whole context of the article tbh…that was just a part of it…

It has been in public domain for a long time that Philip called her that....or his other nickname for her.......Cabbage  I kind of wish they'd used that as another middle name :hehe:

The domain is that nobody can use that email and they can use that for any sort of commercial work they want to.

…(…I don’t blame you, I’m only here for one night only, I think…then onto fresher pastures…)….

Because to be frank - you back up an awful lot of your points with the evidence that "a royal source said it" or "a royal biographer wrote about it" but you never actually say where. We're just supposed to accept that they did... because you say so. It's not really evidence, is it... you could say literally whatever you want followed by "one of the biographers wrote it just trust me" :idc:.

I have read a lot of royal books by acclaimed authors over the years - still do - and I refer to what I read in them.
I don't have to prove what I write, and you don't have to accept what I write.
Take it or leave it, simple as that.

When I post an article, I always put up a link, ploughing through books to find certain words on certain pages is a bit of a stretch to ask....
I'm sure you can find the official Royal biographies at your local library though...just saying...:hee:

This is so untrue.
Most of her dearest friends called her that in private as well.

Could be, it isn't something I've ever come across. I have always read Philip was the only one to use it for a long time.

Of course she is. Who said she wasn't?

It's in every Royal biography I've seen that its a well known and.used name in the family. Since they released the name its in every article that its a "family" nickname for her

I've read the opposite. I think this particular topic has reached stalemate status.

No.
There have been loads of documentaries on the Queen, her friends and ladies in waiting called her Lilibet in private.

Really.

It's a bit of a strange sounding name, but different strokes for different folks I guess.

…it’s lovely to read the positivity even from some of the more critical royal reliant reporters of the name choice and the family affection and love attached to it… and how little Lilibet Diana will help unite going forward …they’ve all lost a dear loved one and now they’ve all gained one, life’s circle……

I've deleted 115 posts from this thread, it was a mind numbing experience. I will continue to delete any posts I deem deliberately provocative, trolling or baiting and hopefully one of these threads (especially one about the birth of a baby) can remain standing :fc:
