I though I would go for some proper unknown stuff with my first two.
Ok, a blatant plug for a mates band. They have been in the "what's on the NME stereo" section a few weeks ago (White Stripe issue) Being tipped for big things apparently. Steve Lamaqu (sp) likes them. Brilliant live with a bass line that will digest your food for you. Tired Irie - Terrafirma http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JX1XyZJpAb8 Their myspace. http://www.myspace.com/tiredirie For my next one it is another mates band, well more of a side project from his main band. This one is darker and a bit more experimental so I know it won't score well, but I am not here for love or points. But to expand your min..... I'll shut the **** up and give you the link. Tenacity? - SHOEGAZER You have to go to their myspace http://www.myspace.com/tenaciousness and click on the top song on the player. If you want the video, stop the player, scroll down to the first video thing and clicky click. And for my last one. Not mates this time. I saw these on the second stage at Leeds 02 this year. I had never heard of them but walked away with a smile on my face. Happy go lucky indie pop. I shall be looking them up at Reading this year. Pete and the Pirates - Come On Feet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2yp7...elated&search= Do your worst. |
Tired Irie - Terrafirma
Was ok. Not really my type of song. It's not a memorable piece. Easily forgotten and I would not buy it. I can't see this one growing on me. The video turned into a solo version of "Praise you" by Fatboy Slim, 4/10 Tenacity? - Shoegazer. The beginning is very repetitive. It goes on for too long. I do like this a lot better than the first song though. I like the style of the vocals half way into it. I may listen to this one again. I like the twists in it. Not bad at all. 7/10 Pete and the Pirates - Come On Feet The beginning reminded me of the La's or something. Late 80's Madchester, but with a definite sixties feel to it. Still very new though and I think very different from anything else around. Playing this one again as we speak. 8/10 |
I can live with that.

1) Tired Irie - was a little...boring to be honest, sorry! But it wasn't bad - I give it 6/10.
2) Shoegazer - nice tune, and was catchy - the vocals aren't too great but I don't mind  - 8/10 3) Come On Feet - nice Britpoppy feel to this, like Supergrass, and so it scores big with me. Genuine happy feel to it :colour: 8/10 again. |
ill probably listen to them tommorow and give my votes sometime tommorow

1) Tired Irie -Like the bass line but other than that it was a bit dull for me 5/10
2) Shoegazer -Intro seemed to drag on and I didn't like the vocals really and it was a bit hard to understand but some parts of the beat were catchy 4/10 3) Come On Feet - Best of the bunch, can see myself listening to it again and would be great to the crowd going at a live show 8/10 |
