When do the schools go back?

I'm not sure how the blame for the ridiculous circus that surrounded this animal's last minutes can be placed with his owner who'd fought ceaselessly to save him. You'd think the people who led him away would have some kind of knowledge of animals, but no... It was a grotesque show of power by the government. And the fact that so many cops turned up shows that their priorities are pretty skewed these days.

I still feel for the owner too.
She tirelessly tried to save one of her pets I guess really. I still don't understand why another test couldn't have been done to both satisfy government and the owner of the reliability of said test. Watching the seizing of Geronimo was near heartbreaking. The Police presence actually both unnecessary and concerning. Helping the slaughter of a single animal taking so many police and their vehicles off other duties. To satisfy a government dept which was only really being asked to do one more independently done reliable test, to be sure. I wonder if the post mortem on Geronimo were to show he hadn't the condition. Would we actually be told that as I'm not sure we would. If they were so sure he had it from 2 other totally reliable tests, why have then any concerns of opening up to a more independent test to confirm it for a third time. Or was that original testing really as reliable as we were led to believe. Sad absolutely this whole story is. I actually agree with Livia's post. Why now direct fury at the owner, she must have been in panic too and devastated at the heavy handed way, the seizing of Geronimo was enforced. In fact it should be really worrying. |

The decision was made and even though she didn't agree with it she should not have made a circus out of the poor animals final hours, she knew he was in distress yet just filmed rather than intervening |
There were quite a few people camping out there pledging to 'protect' the animal so I can sorta see why the police were there to make sure nothing kicked off, in the end the Defra officials are just doing their job but might have been met with threats and violence if the police weren't there
I do sort of agree that doing an extra test wouldn't have been too much to ask just to put an end to the whole circus |

Yes, that would have been better |
