The BBC have denied that their
controversial Jimmy Savile drama The Reckoning
has been delayed

[Savile drama has been delayed after
it was claimed 'bosses were urging more focus
to be placed on the victims']

[A BBC spokesperson said:
'We are currently in post-production for transmission
later this year.
An exact date will be announced in due course.'

The decision to chronicle Savile's life has come
under fire from many, however the BBC has
stated that it worked with his victims and will portray
the story 'with sensitivity and respect'.]

I know Coogan is 'famed' for his Savile impression, but that's always been comical.

I have seen clips from the programme and he still seems to be using that comical impression.

I think any drama about Savile needs to have an excellent actor in the role. It's not about 'how's about that then' and 'rattle, rattle, jewelry. jewelry.' Coogan isn't a good actor. He's okay but not great.

They could have used an experienced actor who really didn't sound that much like Savile. The voice could have been a mild version of the paedo.

It's the depiction of the man that is more important.

The BBC fell into the same trap when they used David Williams to play Frankie Howerd. He was nothing like him.

Steve Coogan to play Jimmy Savile in BBC drama

Why on Earth are the BeeB funding this project !

I’m still trying forget all about this despicable monster

I’ve no idea why Coogan would want to be associated with any part of this .. imagine the research alone - can’t be good for his mental health

i've said this before. The BBC enabled Saville and then covered it up. Now they are using license payers money to earn profit from selling the program around the world. It's obscene

You're not wrong there !

Steve Coogan was uncanny as him though. I wonder though what it would have been like if they chose a unknown actor to play Saville.

I was honestly watching it in disgust & disbelief , the way he manipulated and used his power to prey on vulnerable people and victims. twisted nasty sicko, the real injustice ... is that he was never convicted whilst he was alive. He basically got away with all his crimes. The only closure his victims (who are still around) got was when he died. But they still have to live with the horrible trauma he put them all through.

He would make vulgar jokes on tv shows bragging about his behaviour, people knew about the rumours and they either turned a blind eye or nobody listened ... and he used his friends in high places to protect him ie the BBC , the royal family , Thatcher , Pope and even the police ! . It's grotesque how much of a cover up this was.

It took far to long for him to be exposed, a whole year after his death !!. The level of corruption is beyond words.

What inspirational times we live in

Shall I watch a drama series about Jimmy fecking Savile or one about the modern Yorkshire Ripper
