Just a reminder that Hilary Clinton is under investigation for spying on Donald Trumps campaign. Treason.
Also What was on the Hunter Biden laptop? But... The Oscars |
He hasn't commented but he's liked other people's (Ricky Gervais)

It wasnt set up, Chris Rock was in complete shock following the incident, he could barely get his script out. if it was planned he'd get back on track much fast and brushed it off with a good joke.
Also I dont believe Will Smith is a good enough actor for this to be staged. |
|
Can't stand Smith. Completely unacceptable what he did and I can't believe he was allowed to remain in the building. His later "god needs me to protect people" speech was another nauseating slap in the face.
|
I doubt it was staged. The Oscars might do a lot of crazy things for ratings and attention, but engineering assault on live television is too far, even they wouldn't stoop that low, and I doubt Smith or Rock would agree to such a stunt. Any celebrity with honour and dignity wouldn't dare participate in something like that. Although the Academy must be secretly loving the attention this has brought them. The last big incident at the Oscars to my knowledge was the whole Moonlight/La La Land Best Picture mix up which was 5 years ago. Nothing major has happened since then unless I'm forgetting something. And at the end of the day it isn't the Oscars without some drama.
As for the incident itself, both were in the wrong. Rock shouldn't have made that joke considering him and Jada aren't friends atm. He made jokes about her and Will back when he was hosting the 2016 Oscars. There's a time and place and last night's Oscars wasn't it. He should've known it wasn't gonna go down well with either of them. But Will should've kept his cool, be the bigger person and dealt with it privately. Assaulting him on national television was not a smart thing to do. This pretty much overshadowed his own Best Actor Oscar win. |

Those big houses and lifestyles ain't cheap. |
And to add, what Tony said about this altercation now completely overshadowing his winning the Oscar, there's no way he did this on purpose and wanted to have people talking about it instead of how wonderful he is and his Oscar win

the only aspect that makes me think it could be staged is the fact that Smith got up there all angry and then slapped the guy. Surely it should have been a punch

remember when that Ukrainian tried to kiss him on the red carpet, he slapped him also. |

Also when he played the role of JOhn Prescott in that New Labour movie he punched a fan
The guy is out of control |

Chris Rock should never have made such a personal ‘joke’, and Will shouldn’t have hit him but let his displeasure be known AFTER the show, both to Chris and the media.
If Will goes around slapping people in public when he’s riled, what may he be like behind closed doors? D: |

From what I understand of how it works in America... unless it's caused serious injury, it's up to the victim whether or not to pursue charges with the police, if they don't want to pursue it then the police won't pursue it. In the UK the police can decide to pursue it whether the victim wants to or not. Have to say in this case I doubt they would though, due to no injury being caused and there being a provokation. (That's not an excuse for getting violent but it would make a difference here, a totally unprovoked assault is always going to be concerning to the police).
