If the Lib Dems and ALL other so called opposition parties don't back this.
That will speak volumes about them.

Plus highlight the hypocrisy of the Cons to the voters too.
To leave this odious PM in place for another 2 months at least.

I'm still suspicious of some of the Lib Dems.
Their leader was a Minister in the coalition and he voted for humiliating policies against the sick and disabled.
Among many broken other promises as to his word too.

I am very interested to see just what the Lib Dems vote in any vote of confidence.

Even more interested to see exactly where the DUP put their votes too.

It may well be soundly defeated but quite a bit to learn about all the other Parties possibly from it for me.

Boris Johnson's government is refusing to allow time to debate a vote of no confidence in the prime minister, Labour says.

The party tabled the motion in Parliament earlier, with the aim of challenging Conservative MPs to oust the prime minister as they simultaneously hold a leadership contest.

Labour wanted to hold the vote tomorrow, but the party says the government won't allow it to go ahead.

Downing Street says confidence votes are conventionally held in governments and not individuals, such as prime ministers.

"This is totally unprecedented," a Labour spokesperson says. "Yet again the Tories are changing the rules to protect their own dodgy mates.

"All the Tory leadership candidates should denounce this flagrant abuse of power to protect a discredited prime minister.”

In a statement, a government spokesperson said: “We have given Labour the option to table a straightforward vote of no confidence in the government.

"They have chosen to play politics by tabling a vote of no confidence in the government and the prime minister."

It would have been intetesting, for me certainly anyhow.
To have seen what result a no vote of confidence in Johnson to lead the or A government, would have been.

I can't see the Cons objections to this since they do have deputy PM Raab fully able to do the caretaker role.

With this odious and his reputation in tatters PM put out to grass.
Right away.

Why on earth would the Tories agree to a general election when they can remain in power until next summer or is it 2024 ??
