Tbh he probably should've worded it a bit differently, but I think that Souness tried to play up to his "masculine" image yesterday about how he likes rough and ready Football, but it's come across to some people the wrong way. I mean alternatively he could be being an asshole, but I don't think that Souness would still be on Sky Sports if he really held misogynistic views as it would damage their brand. |

Souness has ALWAYS spoken in this manner. All of a sudden he's to be "careful" with what he says because it'll offend some clowns who try to act like women now have an "equal standing" in a sport their gender opposites have completely dominated for decades?? pffft.
Whether you enjoy/support women's football or not, the idea that you MUST NOW change your rhetoric(which wasn't offensive BEFORE the women's game has started being rammed down throats..) is quite simply RIDICULOUS. It's like if you've been listening to certain genre of music for years..and one day someone fronts you and says they don't like it..they're "offended" by it. "Please stop playing that", they say. "Change the record", they say. What would your response be if some silly bastard tried that shyte on you?? The sooner women(and the simps who follow them) stop trying to act like they're riding sideBYside with the male game - trying to prop their version up in such a desperate and artificial manner, the sooner their version can progress authentically in its own right. |

Seriously though I agree with you that Souness has always had a certain demeanor, I honestly don't think that he was intending to offend women with his comments. But I don't know the guy personally tbf, maybe he is a misogynist and his playing me for a fool, but I'm gonna try to trust a Celebrity for once and say that he made a comment without thinking. |

Well they didnt care about scouse manbaby carragher gobbing all over people, so I'm not sure that's entirely true. |
well who recently became european champions
men or the women's team? based on that i'd say they have every right to include some female representation in the football shows maybe if scottish women's football would improve a lot more, maybe then Souness would change his mind on this topic  |

I have listened to all the arguments and maybe on balance he didn't mean it in a derogatory way, still doesn't explain his manspread though, its a tiny studio put your legs together Graeme :hee:

But yes, I didn't watch the program but I can see from that clip how it may have been taken the wrong way. Some of the comments here though :nono: |
