if a footballer doesn't feel he can play he can exclude himself from selection. Personal choice rather that authoritarian edict

You only have to see the reactions yesterday to know it didn't just hot the British players

No one is showing you their group chats, and you're not seeing any reactions from the anti-monarchists, so of course you believe that everyone feels the exact same way.Trust me, they don't.

Players posting a tweet saying RIP doesn't mean they're "grieving" Denver fgs

How annoying

Following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday, the Premier League
have opted to postpone all of the top-flight fixtures in Gameweek 7.

An announcement on Gameweek 8 will, the Premier League effectively said, be
provided “in due course”.

If next week’s fixtures are also called off, domestic football won’t resume until
the start of October as an international break takes place later this month.

A statement from the Premier League read:

At a meeting this morning, Premier League clubs paid tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

To honour her extraordinary life and contribution to the nation, and as a mark of respect, this weekend’s Premier League match round will be postponed, including Monday evening’s game.

Richard Masters, Premier League Chief Executive, said: “We and our clubs would like to pay tribute to Her Majesty’s long and unwavering service to our country.

“As our longest-serving monarch, she has been an inspiration and leaves behind an incredible legacy following a life of dedication.

“This is a tremendously sad time for not just the nation but also for the millions of people around the world who admired her, and we join together with all those in mourning her passing.”

Further updates regarding Premier League fixtures during the period of mourning will be provided in due course.

It shows they are bothered though, so you can stop with your false narrative of our foreign footballers not caring.

Caring and emotional feeling are two different things. They wont really care at all. They might care that she died like "oh that's a shame, rip Liz" then go about their business, which is what i imagined most did.

To be honest I think it’s a poor decision. I don’t see how not playing is showing disrespect. I think a rendition of the National Anthem before every game this weekend would have been more apt.

I agree, like others have pointed out, it's punishing normal people who are probably already struggling money wise with the cost of living sky rocketing lately, who might have paid for transport/hotels etc for these matches

That's quite the twist Sir. What are my "disgusting" comments? I never said those players were excited the Queen had died, I said they probably wouldn't be mourning her, how is it disgusting not to mourn another countries Monarch who died? What an odd implication to make :conf:

Crimson Dynamo 09-09-2022 11:05 AM

Northern Irish FA have postponed all games this weekend.

You said they didn't care...which implies they dont care about a 94 year old worlds longest reigning monarchs death...

I implied markle would be gleeful at the thought of the reading of the will, cause shes a greedy self centred cow.

I based my opinion on facts, your opinion lumped every foreigner into one box...that's more disgusting than my opinion, imo.

You honestly think the average non British person cares about another countries Queen/President/Prime Minister dying? Beyond an RIP etc? Why would they?

Why is it disgusting to not care about a celebrity dying? What a weird take

"the world" is a lot different to individual people, Compulsory mourning is a thing, but so is personal opinion.

You're the one that keeps quoting me and being melodramatic about me making a comment on football being cancelled, bloody hell.
