I originally thought that ...but something doesn't add up. Plus the dog wasn't covered in water when they found him .

The dawg was found more than an hour afterwards though, apparently

It just seems weird to me that she would fall in the water and still not be found ..... It's been a week!!!.

Now 7 days,
all 4 News start with Missing Nicola.

Mystic Mock 03-02-2023 05:24 AM

I know I'm stating the obvious, but it doesn't look good for her sadly.

Unfortunately she will be found in that river
The reason being her dog was not on its lead or tied to the bench
Dog owners will know a dog will follow its owner if they walked off so the fact the dog was still by the bench with the phone means the only place the dog wouldn’t follow is into the river

She would swim out of it.

Not if she jumped or was hit and pushed or fell in

Stranger things have happened and that would explain why she left her phone ..

That thought did cross my mind,it's a strange one,I also feel she could be in the water quite deep and caught on something so would be harder to find, but hopefully she will be found at least for the family.

A dog takes a lot longer to dry off than an hour, especially in this weather. On a hot sunny day, maybe.

She was wearing a long gilet those things would weigh you down in the water

People over-estimate their swimming ability based on how well they swim in a swimsuit... you need to be a VERY strong swimmer to swim in full clothing and in some thick jackets/boots it's just not possible at all. The first thing you want to do if you fall into deep water is get your shoes off if at all possible, because they'll take you down.

yes I agree, the dog would not just stay passively behind if she was being forced off somewhere by a stranger. I think sadly it was a tragic accident even if the dog didnt go fully into the water, she might have reached for it as it was getting in and fell in and hit her head on something freakish like that
